About the role

The Cloud Engineer - Linux Admin is responsible for supporting the sustainment of Applications/Services providing the backend administration and support in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will assist in defining requirements, designing and building data center technology components and testing efforts. The Cloud Engineer – Linux Administrator designs, builds, maintains, and optimizes an organization's cloud infrastructure (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) by migrating systems, ensuring security, scalability, and performance, and collaborating with developers to create efficient, resilient cloud solutions, handling everything from automation to cost management and disaster recovery Skills: Linux, Oracle Database, Red Hat OS Administration, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Terraform, Ansible, Cloudbees Jenkins, Automation and Cloud Native Architectures Documentation and Knowledge Transfer Troubleshooting in Linux. Logging and Auditing in Linux. Automation of Linux and other application related processes with Jenkins, and Ansible Core. Provide scripting an automation for Linux administration for automation.

Manually find and resolve Linux issues. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize an organization's cloud infrastructure (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) by migrating systems, ensuring security, scalability, and performance, and collaborating with developers to create efficient, resilient cloud solutions, handling everything from automation to cost management and disaster recovery
  • May plan, design, develop, migrate, install, or implement various technology products, or enhance computer programs. This individual applies knowledge of software and programming to deploy or migrate and test applications and produce the necessary outcome for clients.
  • Roles & responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
    • Support acceptance testing of applications in target cloud environment
    • Support application bug fix for migration-related application defects
    • Structure and coordinate with application functional owners for the required testing of applications prior to, during, and post migration
    • Report and resolve issues related to infrastructure and application migration activities.
    • Determine the Definition of Ready for work items to be slotted into a Sprint, Deliver working software or acceptable deliverables in every iteration)
    • Help the Product Owner break larger work items (Epics, User Stories) into smaller User Stories based on functionality
    • Estimate Product Backlog items (Epics, User Stories), Decompose User Stories into smaller, actionable Tasks, Estimate Tasks during Sprint Planning, Commit to Sprint delivery based on the Definition of Done
    • Adhere to the Definition of Done, Report daily status & impediments during Daily Stand-Up, Escalate impediments
    • Frequent (daily) communication with and demonstration of progress to the Product Owner
    • Maintain all boards (Scrum), Maintain project management tool (JIRA)

Qualifications

  • US Citizen with active Secret clearance
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years’ practical experience Windows and Linux Environment
  • Administration and configuration of ALM Octane, UFT, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, ReadyAPI, VMWare/Horizon is preferred
  • Installing Application client tools on VDI Images/Pools STIG experience CDRL documentation experience VMware VDI Microsoft Windows Server Administration Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Octane
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Current Comptia Security + OR any of the following certifications for 8570 Baseline also are acceptable: CISSP, CCNA, CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CND, CSSLP, CYSA+, GSLC, SSC
