Design and implement scalable AWS infrastructure using IaC, build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure system reliability. Collaborate with clients and maintain high standards of security and performance.
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code while supporting multiple client engagements in parallel. One engagement you may be building automated CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using ECS or EKS, the next you’re implementing monitoring, observability, and reliability frameworks that ensure production systems run efficiently at scale. You’ll partner closely with architects and client teams to translate requirements into robust cloud solutions, drive DevOps best practices, and deliver highly available, well-architected AWS environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices across multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- You'll build CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment processes, and establish monitoring and observability solutions that enable clients to operate efficiently in the cloud.
- Working closely with solutions architects and project managers, you'll translate client requirements into technical solutions while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with client technical teams to implement DevOps best practices, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and provide knowledge transfer to ensure long-term success.
- You'll balance multiple project priorities, adapt to varying client environments, and contribute to our internal tooling and methodology improvements.
- Your work will directly support our AWS DevOps Competency and help clients achieve their digital transformation objectives.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and core services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Systems Manager)
- Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts (VPC design, security groups, NACLs, connectivity patterns)
- Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant architectures using AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
- Knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Proficiency with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Strong Git/version control practices including branching strategies
- Experience building reusable and modular infrastructure code
- Experience with AWS-based application or workload migrations and modernization efforts
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI)
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling deployments)
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerization best practices
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS or ECS for container orchestration
- Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
- Knowledge of log aggregation tools (ELK stack, CloudWatch Logs Insights)
- Ability to define and work with SLIs, SLOs, and alerting strategies
- Experience with application performance monitoring and distributed tracing
- Experience managing multiple client projects or workstreams simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience documenting technical solutions, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Client-facing experience with ability to build trust and credibility
Preferred:
- Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge)
- Experience with database systems in AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB) including performance tuning
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Experience with cost optimization and FinOps practices
- Familiarity with security scanning and vulnerability management tools
- Experience implementing service mesh and advanced microservices patterns
- Understanding of container security and image management best practices
- Background in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with infrastructure or application modernization in consulting/professional services environments
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities
- Experience with CI/CD maturity improvements and platform engineering initiatives
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (or equivalent; required within 90 days if not already held)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (required within 12 months)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
