The Opportunity: 

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities.


As a Cloud Architect on our team, you’ll work with Booz Allen colleagues and the Military to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of Space Sensing capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to our warfighters to defeat our enemies in battle. Your customer will trust you to develop and design secure cloud-based solutions to support mission-critical operations. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using current cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work directly with your team and the client to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. 


You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll use your experience to guide your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud.

You Have: 

  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise IT systems and cloud infrastructures, including highly available, scalable, and resilient architectures across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • 8+ years of experience with leadership, guiding architecture, platform engineering, DevSecOps, and development teams driving automation, modernization, and best‑practice cloud engineering across large‑scale enterprise engagements
  • Experience designing and delivering hybrid‑cloud architectures that seamlessly integrate on‑premises systems with public cloud platforms, ensuring secure connectivity, scalability, and optimized workload placement
  • Ability to apply structured evaluation and prototyping techniques to industry trends and emerging technologies to develop a cloud platform roadmap 
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to develop and implement cloud strategies 
  • Secret clearance
  • Associate's degree in a STEM discipline such as Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics

 

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience leading DevSecOps teams and implementing automation tools and processes 
  • Experience with the Strategic Missile Warning architecture, its programs, and the organizations supporting the mission
  • Experience with ground antenna, networking, distributed systems, or data orchestration
  • Knowledge of security and compliance requirements for cloud-based solutions, network architecture, and security principles 
  • Knowledge of Platform Engineering and DevSecOps practices and tools, such as OpenShift, Podman, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, SonarQube and Git 
  • TS/SCI clearance 
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solution Architect Professional, or Google Cloud Architect Certification 

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
