About the Role
We are looking for a Clojure Backend Engineer who will be joining the Customer Data Engineering team. This role is responsible for all things related to customer data: creating and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, ensuring maximum data quality in our platform, making processed data available to customers, creating new data models.
What You Will Do
- Work with your team to build maintainable solutions to real business problems
- Understand customer problems and constraints to deliver the best possible
- Learn our internal frameworks, improve existing solutions and create new tooling
- Write Clojure code with a focus on its legibility, maintainability and performance
- Review and give feedback on code changes proposed by other engineers
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a software engineer (we have openings at several levels)
- Fluent with Clojure
- Team player with positive attitude
- Excellent debugging, investigation, and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in measuring and optimizing application performance at a variety of layers
- No fear of writing SQL (Postgres) queries, designing relational tables
- Great communication and documentation skills
- Experience working with data storage, transformation and querying
- Values simple, reliable, observable software
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Postgres and Redis
- Experience with Google Cloud
- Experience with Temporal
Salary
When we find the right person, we try to put our best foot forward with an offer that excites you and is fair on our end. We consider the skills and experience you bring, what similar jobs pay, and make sure there’s equal pay for equal work among those you’ll be working with. The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $80,000-$140,000. The final offer also takes into account other factors of a total compensation package, including what is market-based on the region. Please note that the range is being shared in good faith and is subject to modification based on changing market and business conditions.
