The Position

We’re looking for a Client Manager to join our leadership team, currently comprised of three other Client Manager peers and the firm’s principals and directors. This new hire will lead and drive the strategic growth and operational excellence of client services by fostering strong client relationships, optimizing internal operations, overseeing key functions such as people operations, finance, and project management, and collaborating strategically with clients to identify opportunities for organizational development. This critical role will also ensure seamless execution of client objectives through effective team management, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvement, while upholding organizational values and industry best practices. Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive project management experience, specifically leading complex operational or technical initiatives
  • Experience overseeing quality implication of cross-functional operational tasks (e.g. foundational operations functions including financial operations, people operations/HR operations, and general operations)
  • Experience as leader with the capacity to lead from empathy and contribute to internal policies, norms, and strategic team outcomes that are human-centered, equitable, and sustainable/enable firm’s financial success
  • Familiarity and comfort with basic financial operations and accounting actions, terms, and tasks
  • Experience successfully working in and project managing for a remote team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer/client engagement and relationship management 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully project manage several simultaneous portfolios with fluctuating work capacity demands  
  • Willingness to assist in any and all operational needs of a client
  • Strong relational skills along with the ability to educate and persuade clients to align with best practices while ensuring client satisfaction
  • Strong ability to support, manage, and supervise internal, multi-level team of subject matter experts with demonstrated success doing so 
  • Strong attention to detail and completeness that balances the ability to hold, communicate, and orient to a bigger picture
  • Comfort working in an evolving team and willingness to embrace change and take initiative to ensure quality services 
Preferred Qualifications 

We know that professionals usually have a specialized track; it is completely fine to be stronger in one area, though we do prefer functional familiarity with all operational areas, as outlined below. 

  • 6+ years of progressive project management experience, specifically leading complex operational or technical initiatives 
  • 3+ years of leadership overseeing complex general operations functions and teams (e.g. regulation and compliance management; record and knowledge management; workflows and daily team process creation and management, HRIS and payroll, etc.)   
  • 3+ years of leadership overseeing complex people operations functions and teams (e.g. employee engagement, hiring and onboarding, offboarding and terminations, performance management, values-aligned culture-building, people systems creation, etc.)  
  • 3+ years of leadership overseeing complex financial operations functions and teams (e.g. planning, coordinating, implementing, and managing financial processes; basic bookkeeping and accounting; budget planning; organizational spending process management, etc.)   
  • Experience and demonstrated success in nonprofit, operations firm, and/or highly complex, multi-client organization
  • Experience and/or certification with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel; working understanding of GAAP
  • Working proficiency and confident with Google Suite/Workspace, Asana, Keeper/Double, and Slack 
  • A desire to support progressive organizations and their missions - including women's rights, LGBTQ rights, climate action, voter protection, immigration reform, equal access to healthcare, equal rights, and others
Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong client relationships to understand their business needs and objectives. Collaborate with clients to gain a deep understanding of their internal operations for planning and strategizing. Oversee processes to develop and implement operational solutions aligned with best practices. Act as the main operational partner to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Internal Operations Management: Work closely with clients to optimize internal operations. Conduct assessments of existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose innovative solutions for enhanced effectiveness. Provide guidance on best practices related to internal operations.
  • People Operations Management: Oversee Senior Associates and Associates to collaborate with clients on people operations initiatives including but not limited to talent acquisition, employee engagement, and performance management. Oversee work to develop and implement people operations policies and processes aligning with client objectives and industry standards.
  • Accounting and Financial Management: Oversee Senior Associates and Associates to collaborate with clients on financial processes, budgeting, and accounting functions. Oversee work to ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards. Provide and communicate accurate financial analysis for planning and decision-making. Oversee work to develop and implement accounting, budget, and financial policies aligned with client objectives.
  • Project Management: Project manage client’s operations portfolios, beginning with client onboarding and throughout the engagement with the client. Ensure effective planning, management, and execution of objectives within established timelines. Oversee the team to establish, coordinate, and execute tasks and provide timely updates to clients.
  • Team Management: Set clear expectations and delegate tasks effectively for Senior Associates and Associates. Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to support growth. Uphold and champion organizational values and foster a values-driven workplace. 
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for evolving internal structures and procedures. Participate in internal assessments to improve processes. Lead internal collaboration efforts to address needs and promote knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Business Development: Identify and seize opportunities to expand operational services and offerings for clients.  Offer tailored solutions to meet client needs and align operational services with client objectives. Proactively manage internal resources (e.g., time tracking) for optimal client scope of work. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
The Location

Because Salesberry Group’s clients are located throughout the country, this position is remote and can work from anywhere in the continental US. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without need of visa sponsorship now or in the future. 

Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a full time position with a salary of $110,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Any starting salary must fall within that range. Other compensation includes a monthly home office stipend. 
  • Salesberry Group offers 3 weeks of accrued PTO, 13 paid holidays, and unlimited sick leave. Additional PTO policies include parental leave (12 weeks), bereavement, voting, and blood donation. Salesberry Group also often adds holiday extensions for summer holidays (3 or 4 day weekends), as client needs allow.
  • Salesberry Group provides medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees only. Employees can add dependents at their own cost.
  • A 401K plan is available for employees to make pre-tax contributions, with no employer contribution at this time.
