Job Summary:
At Mercer Advisors, we know that the first steps in a client’s journey are critical to building a lasting relationship. The Client Development Associate (CDA) plays a key role in guiding new clients from initial agreement to becoming an official client, ensuring their onboarding experience is seamless and exceptional. Acting as the bridge between the Regional Vice President (RVP) and the Wealth Management Team (WMT), the CDA manages all aspects of the onboarding process—from setting up accounts and processing paperwork to facilitating introductions and tracking initial assets. This role is designed for detail-oriented professionals who thrive on creating a positive first impression and delivering an outstanding client experience during this pivotal stage.
Essential Job Functions for this role include:
- Onboarding new clients to Mercer Advisors efficiently and professionally to ensure better client retention.
- Partner with the Regional Vice President (RVP) to manage new client onboarding from initial agreement to becoming an official client.
- Execute the Three-Part New Client Onboarding Process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare, send, and process all required client paperwork and documentation.
- Set up new clients across all Mercer systems and maintain accurate records.
- Create and manage onboarding checklists to track progress and ensure completion of all steps.
- Monitor custodian platforms to confirm account linking, funding, and transfers are completed promptly.
- Proactively follow up with custodians to resolve issues and prevent delays in the onboarding process.
- Facilitate smooth hand-off to the Wealth Management Team (WMT) by introducing the client and providing a completed onboarding checklist.
- Drive Price Modification Request process and ensure compliance documentation is delivered to clients.
- Track and secure additional assets and opportunities during the first year of the client relationship, including running Fi360 attestations for new retirement assets.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior financial services or related administrative support experience
- Sales experience highly preferred.
- Series 65 or combination of Series 7 and 66 license preferred; will be required to obtain the Series within first 6 months of employment
- Understanding of the financial services industry
- Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with high-level, busy professionals
- Must work well in a team environment and present a positive and professional demeanor
- Self-starter, active contributor and ability to listen to and deliver on client’s needs and expectations
- Must be highly flexible and confidential with all matters
- Ability to occasionally travel (to both channel partner offices and prospects’)
Work Schedule:
This professional role requires availability during standard business hours of Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. At times, the role may have early or late hours to meet business tasks and deadlines for external and internal client needs.
All roles classified as a non-exempt are required to record working time into the timekeeping system daily at the start and end of each workday plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
Working Conditions:
This position may be in a professional office environment or a dedicated home office workspace which is free of interruptions. Whether position is in a dedicated office space or home office workspace, basic technology needs will be provided to satisfy position requirements. Routinely sitting and standing for periods of time. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications. This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
