We are seeking a CJIS Program Strategy Vice President to join our team. This is a remote opportunity based in the United States.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and proactive VP of Criminal Justice Information Security (CJIS) Program Strategy to serve as a strategic Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all matters related to the CJIS Security Policy. This individual will drive internal and external initiatives that strengthen our presence within the CJIS ecosystem through industry engagement, marketing consultation, partner identification, and strategic content creation. This role will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams to support go-to-market efforts, positioning our solutions effectively in the public safety and criminal justice technology space.
Duties and Responsibilities
CJIS Strategy and Subject Matter Expertise
  • Serve as the internal CJIS SME, providing expert guidance on CJIS Security Policy and compliance requirements.
  • Influence enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure CJIS is embedded in messaging, solution architecture, and customer engagement.
  • Lead the development and execution of a go-to-market strategy for CJIS.
  • Advise the executive team and senior leaders on CJIS-related risks, opportunities, and market positioning.

Industry Engagement
  • Represent the company at CJIS-related conferences, working groups, and regional meetings.
  • Secure and participate in speaking engagements and panels to promote thought leadership to promote the company's commitment to CJIS alignment.
  • Lead executive engagements with law enforcement and public safety agencies, establishing the company as a trusted leader in the CJIS space.
  • Develop, foster and maintain relationships with CJIS network members and key stakeholders.

Sales and Business Development Support
  • Oversee CJIS-related engagement strategy for key public sector pursuits, serving as an leader on top-tier opportunities.
  • Development of CJIS-specific sales collateral, playbooks, and objection handling.
  • Collaborate with the technical alliances and channel teams to identify and cultivate partnerships that enhance CJIS solution offerings.

Marketing and Content Collaboration
  • Lead strategic collaboration with marketing to define and shape CJIS-related content strategy including whitepapers, case studies, and campaign narratives.
  • Present as CJIS expert on scheduled and future webinars (owned and third-party) to act as voice for the company in the CJIS and public safety ecosystem.
  • Provide editorial input on blog posts, social media messaging, and campaign narratives.
  • Author and publish thought leadership articles and blogs on CJIS trends and best practices.
  • Connect Marketing with other Subject Matter Experts across the industry to support our campaign tactics and utilize as extensions of our value proposition.

Field Engagement and Enablement
  • Guide the internal enablement program by setting the vision for CJIS-related training, communications, and field readiness.
  • Attend and participate at on-site meetings with clients, partners, and government stakeholders to provide CJIS expertise.
  • Deliver internal enablement sessions on CJIS trends, policy updates, and implications for sales/product
  • Other duties as assigned and required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, IT, Computer Science or related field.
  • 15+ years' experience with or around CJIS compliance and public sector compliance frameworks, with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and success in representing organizations at CJIS or criminal justice-focused events, forums, and policy groups.
  • Proven track record of attending, speaking, or engaging in CJIS events or forums.
  • Solid knowledge of public sector sales cycles, especially within law enforcement and government agencies.
  • Experience developing or contributing to marketing assets in a technical or regulatory context.
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, content creation, and strategic communications.
  • Comfortable creating blogs and social media content for B2B or government-focused audiences.
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to travel to in-person events and customer sites as needed.

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous leadership experience working for or consulting with law enforcement, criminal justice, or technology vendors serving these sectors.
  • Established network within the CJIS community or public safety ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management, security, or compliance solutions.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or strategic programs focused on public sector/government outcomes.

This position offers a total compensation range of $257,400.00 to $270,400.00, inclusive of base salary and variable compensation, such as bonuses and incentives). In addition, more information about Imprivata's benefit offerings can be found here. This range represents the high and low end of Imprivata's compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate's location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
