North Point Technology is hiring a Systems Engineer SME to own, harden, and scale an enterprise GEOINT architecture for NGA’s Chinook modernization. You’ll guide mission-critical architecture decisions, drive interoperable data standards across the enterprise, and ship cloud-native solutions that accelerate analysts and decision-makers worldwide.

Locations: Gaithersburg, MD (primary); Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Aurora, CO; St. Louis, MO; Tucson, AZ

Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility; able to obtain Polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Advise Customer leadership on strategic planning and enterprise systems architecture.

  • Lead development and assessment of enterprise SE processes, frameworks, and modernization initiatives.

  • Develop/review requirements, interface definitions, architecture products, CONOPS, and system designs.

  • Perform IV&V to ensure compliance with Customer and IC-wide standards.

  • Conduct enterprise trade studies, risk assessments, and capability gap analyses.

  • Drive interoperability and data integration across stakeholders, mission partners, and contractors.

  • Support technical evaluations, readiness assessments, and milestone reviews.

  • Mentor senior and junior engineers; promote rigor, innovation, and accountability.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship (per contract).

  • Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 12–15 years’ relevant experience; or Master’s with 10–13 years.

  • Deep expertise in systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and mission-critical integration in IC/DoD environments.

  • Proven experience advising senior leadership and delivering enterprise-level technical recommendations.

  • Experience supporting the Customer or other GEOINT-focused agencies/programs.

  • Proficiency with MBSE (e.g., Cameo), architecture frameworks (DoDAF, UAF), and SysML.

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate or advanced certifications (e.g., INCOSE ESEP/CSEP, CISSP, Security+).

  • Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures, AWS (including C2S), microservices, and data interoperability standards.

  • Experience with similar Customer enterprise engineering efforts.

  • Familiarity with IC governance models, compliance policies, and GEOINT workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into executable technical roadmaps.
