Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Scrum Master to lead and scale agile transformation initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive change while maintaining hands-on expertise in agile methodologies and team facilitation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead agile transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish and maintain agile governance frameworks and best practices
- Coach and mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and development teams
- Drive change toward agile principles and practices
- Collaborate with leadership to align agile initiatives with business objectives
Operational Excellence
- Oversee multiple scrum teams and ensure adherence to agile principles and practices
- Facilitate large-scale ceremonies including program increment planning and retrospectives
- Identify and remove impediments that affect team performance
- Implement metrics and reporting systems to track team velocity, quality, and delivery
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies and integration activities
Team Development
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for Scrum Masters
- Establish communities of practice and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Design and deliver agile training programs for various levels
- Support teams in adopting new agile practices and tools
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary liaison between development teams and leadership
- Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders
- Facilitate alignment between business priorities and development capacity
- Support product management in backlog prioritization and release planning
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in agile methodologies and team leadership
- TS/SCI Clearance
- Minimum 5 years in Scrum Master role with demonstrated progression to senior positions
- Experience leading agile transformations in large, complex organizations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or equivalent advanced agile certification
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or similar scaling framework certification
- Experience in government contracting or regulated industries
- Background in software development or technical project management
Salary range for the position is $185,000 - $210,000 per year. Specific compensation will be determined by several factors including experience, education, skills, and knowledge. We also offer medical/dental/vision benefits and 401k contribution.
