How YOU will make a Difference:
The Chief People Officer (CPO) is a key executive leadership position responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. This role oversees all aspects of human resources including talent acquisition, employee experience, organizational development, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and workplace culture.
What YOU will do:
  • Acts as a strategic business partner at all levels of the business by using best practices in championing change and shaping HMA's high performance culture.
  • Acts as a proactive and strategic thinker and leadership coach with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Encourages a work environment in which people are motivated and contribute to the fulfillment of our mission, vision and values.
  • Encourages all leaders to be responsible and accountable for employee engagement.
  • Builds management capability to facilitate an open, inclusive, values-based environment that enables effective employee relations.
  • Champion DEI initiatives, ensuring ethical HR practices, and providing leadership in HR practices
  • Defines and delivers best practices coaching and counseling to senior leaders regarding, discipline, termination, compensation structure and corporate policy.
  • Lead organizational design and effectiveness initiatives to support business growth
  • Lead learning and development function as a resource throughout the company to assist in the design and development of learning plans that directly reflect the strategic plan for the company and its processes to serve customers well.
  • Designs and implements total rewards programs that align to business needs and success.
  • Oversees HMA sponsored employee benefit plans (welfare benefit plans, FSA, 401(k), life and disability).
  • Develops, recommends, and implements corporate human capital policies and procedures.
  • Develops departmental goals and objectives and manages employees, workflows, processes, and projects to ensure these goals and objectives are met.
  • Develops and coordinates the departmental budget process and ensures that expenses are reported accurately, and that the budget is managed to expectation.
  • Provide data-driven insights and HR metrics, and ensure that HR initiatives contribute to the organization's financial performance and operational effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience, and Key Attributes needed for Success:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related fields required MA degree preferred
  • SPHR-SCP certification required
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role, preferably as a CPO or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate ability to have worked in or with the C-Suite and utilized effective performance enhancement methods
  • Extensive knowledge of HR and DEI practices, principles, policies and employment law
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent facilitation and training delivery skills required
  • Proven ability to lead by example, motivate, inspire, and be an all encompassing representative of HMA's values

CompensationThe base salary for this position in the greater Seattle area is $225,000-$275,000 and varies dependent on geography, skills, experience, education, and other job or market-related factors. Performance-based incentive bonus(es) is available.
