Cloudflare is looking for a Chief People Officer (CPO) responsible for leading the people function and ensuring that Cloudflare's culture and people strategy support the company's high-growth business objectives. Cloudflare is seeking an innovative, collaborative and business-oriented executive with a proven track record of leading and creating high-performing, positive and caring teams. He/she will have full responsibility over all aspects of the HR function. This includes the analysis and decision-making in all areas of leadership, talent acquisition, talent management, diversity and inclusion, culture and engagement, succession planning, change management, workforce planning, organization development, compensation and benefits, performance management and employee relations. Having recently reached $1 billion in revenue, the CPO will be joining at an exciting point of growth as Cloudflare plans to scale to $5 billion in revenue, and from ~3,700 to 10,000 employees, in the next five years.
This executive will be a key leader of the overarching talent strategy that enables Cloudflare to continue to scale strategically. The CPO will ensure Cloudflare is operating with best-in-class HRIS technology to support recruitment, employee relations, total rewards, and development across all employee groups. The CPO will serve as a highly valued business partner to the executive team and board of directors.
This executive will lead and continue to grow a strong team that builds upon Cloudflare's highly engaged and mission-driven workforce and ensures that it is a fantastic culture and employer of choice. The ideal candidate needs to be both an empathetic and results-oriented leader that can serve as a true thought partner to the Co-Founders, executive leadership team, and board of directors. The CPO will be equally adept at dealing with highly strategic issues and tactical implementation. This individual must be interpersonally adept and able to inspire, motivate and develop a team of top-tier HR professionals.
This position can be located anywhere within the United States. Preferred locations include San Francisco and Austin.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the effective design, development, and implementation of global Human Resources initiatives and programs, including talent acquisition and retention, talent management and development, benefits and compensation, people analytics, ethics and compliance programs, employee relations, and other key areas necessary to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Ensure that Cloudflare's unique and human-first culture continues to thrive as the organization scales from 4,000 to 10,000 employees, and $1 billion to $5 billion revenue, in the next five years.
  • Evaluate and enhance the people team's existing use of tools and technology. Ensure all systems are interconnected and able to talk to each other across platforms. Utilize best-in-class HR technology to ensure Cloudflare has critical data at its fingertips.
  • Oversee global Human Resources operations to ensure current best practices including efficiency, responsiveness, high quality service delivery, consistency, and compliance with local laws.
  • Position Cloudflare as an employer of choice, both internally and externally, through continuous performance improvement and employee engagement.
  • Provide the Co-Founders and Board with landscape analysis and requisite information on important HR considerations, metrics, and potential risks.
  • Ensure Cloudflare has a leading total rewards philosophy that positions it to compete for, attract and retain top talent across a range of functions.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace that values individual and group differences. Ensure all employees, across a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives, feel valued, welcome, integrated, and included in the Cloudflare workforce.
  • Ensure that the company has first-rate onboarding, recruitment, HRIS, employee relations, leadership and professional development across a range of employee groups.
  • Partner closely with the compensation committee, the nomination and corporate governance committee and the board of directors on matters of talent, succession, development and total rewards.
  • Translate business plans into a people team consistent with the vision, culture and pace of the company.
  • Evaluate, restructure and build, as necessary, the people team to meet the needs of the company's growing business.
