Job Description:

   

HPE is seeking a Chief Architect for Private Cloud / Flex Solutions to drive incubation of new services capabilities for the HPE GreenLake Private Cloud portfolio. In this essential role, you’ll be responsible for leading the technical roadmap for the Private Cloud & Flex offerings while staying in strategic alignment with the broader HPE strategy. You will act as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. 

This position could be based anywhere in the United States. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Provide overall technical strategic leadership for the Private Cloud & Flex Organization involved with designing and developing engineering solutions for products, systems, software, and solutions. 

  • Responsible for the defining design/architecture of complex/large and enterprise-scale applications/services delivery. 

  • Work with the engineering/SRE team to help build reliability process to ensure the highest level of systems availability, stability, security, and performance, including maintenance and support, root cause analysis, systems validation, performance tuning and capacity management. 

  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in application and infrastructure operations via simplification and automation. 

  • Coordinate between infrastructure, platform, and application subject matter experts to promote reliability efforts through communication and best practice sharing. 

  • Work with R&D organizations to identify application and underlying framework end of life (EOL) requirements/opportunities, continuous capacity management, and associated investment plans. 

  • Partner with other peer Chief Architects across Hybrid Cloud to coordinate and deliver improvements in critical performance and maintenance related metrics / KPI’s. 

  • Collaborate with application managers and architects in technology strategy and roadmap. 

  • Research and recommend evolving technologies. 

  • Manage ongoing complex business challenges and changes stemming from shifting market conditions, strategies, or linkages.

Experience and Skills  

  • Deep expertise in system/network architecture 

  • Proven track record in transitioning large R&D organization from developing products to developing as-a-Service offerings. 

  • Strong understanding of Cloud Native Design and Cloud Native Solutions Kubernetes, and eco-system solutions from CNCF space for cloud native workloads 

  • Knowledge of application failure modes, resiliency patterns, and techniques to enable robust, self-healing architecture. 

  • Experience with architecting, building, and deploying mission critical, highly distributed, large-scale SaaS applications. 

  • Expert level knowledge of at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, VMWare, VMware Cloud Foundation, etc.) including defining and scripting full topologies. 

  • Obsession with improving service availability/performance and user experience/consumption using measurable SRE metrics.

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $192,500.00 - $443,500.00
