Position Overview:

This role is responsible for supporting and managing a highly virtualized IT platform, which includes Linux and Windows operating systems. The candidate will lead a team of system administrators, ensuring technical proficiency and smooth operations across Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.

Additionally, the role involves delivering IT services across various security domains, providing customer support for service requests, and resolving technical issues. The candidate will also play a key role in transitioning, deploying, and releasing newly developed Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) services.

What You Will Do:

  • Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows Server operating systems across enterprise environments.
  • Perform Linux system administration, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Support and manage VMware virtual environments to ensure performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Create, manage, and maintain Active Directory objects, including users, groups, and policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographic locations to deliver reliable infrastructure services.
  • Partner with Infrastructure Services teams to optimize system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process and system enhancements.
  • Maintain and renew relevant professional certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) as required.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices through ongoing learning.
  • Assist in developing and delivering technical training to support team growth and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with CI Poly.
  • Experience with Hypervisor technologies

Work Location

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
