Your Role: Category Manager, Walmart

As Category Manager, Walmart, you will serve as the strategic analytical engine for the Walmart account team, translating complex data into actionable insights to grow the total category. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the category management process, influencing modular recommendations, and optimizing omni-channel growth within the Walmart Inc. ecosystem.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead advanced analytics by leveraging Walmart data tools (Scintilla), retailer POS, and third-party data to deliver high-impact reporting and insights to the sales organization and leadership.
  • Act as a customer-facing category expert, providing thought leadership on product mix, shelf/display space, and merchandising strategies to drive total category growth.
  • Integrate Household Panel, proprietary insights, and POS data to formulate robust recommendations for omni-channel purchasing behaviors (Brick & Mortar, Pickup/Delivery).
  • Support the modular development process by recommending optimal category assortments, flows, and adjacencies using space planning logic.
  • Create and maintain performance scorecards, ROI dashboards, and new item trackers to support account planning and marketing mix decisions.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Category Management, Business Analysis, or Customer Marketing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Nielsen and Scintilla retail data tools; advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience working with Household Panel data (e.g., Numerator, Nielsen Panel) and space planning software.
  • Strong data visualization skills, specifically with Tableau.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and deliver compelling fact-based storytelling presentations.
  • Experience within the Pet or Pet Health industries.
