The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Project Controls Engineer in Capital Engineering you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Creating, managing, and reporting on the Solventum corporate Engineering Capital Plan, serving as a key liaison to the business and guiding capital project estimating, funding requests, and project reporting across the capital investment plan
- Developing and implementing Capital Project estimating standards and tools to ensure consistent format and content across all investments
- Administering the Company Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) system as the business administrator
- Administering and coordinating capital project budget planning efforts and timing in conjunction with Finance, and collaborating with business and engineering leaders to finalize project lists and priorities for the overall corporate investment plan
- Reporting monthly on the capital portfolio performance across the business
- Managing the capital project approval process, ensuring all requests meet governance requirements, and organizing and leading the Capital Review Board and Functional Review Teams for approvals in accordance with grants of authority
- Owning and maintaining standard forms and templates for project reviews, approvals, and reporting
- Ensuring compliance with capital project governance and property and accounting requirements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND six (6) years of project controls experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
OR - Bachelor’s Degree (completed and verified prior to start) AND eight (8) years of project controls experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
OR - High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) AND twelve (12) years of project controls experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Demonstratable Business and Financial Acumen experience
- Capital project estimating and cost controls experience
- Power BI and Data Visualization experience
- Proven ability to successfully influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to drive decisions across all levels of the organization
- Ability to operate at Strategic and Operational levels
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to drive for results while navigating ambiguity
Work location:
- Remote (Minnesota preferred)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $133,450 - $172,700, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
