This role has the principal responsibility for purchasing activities, managing inventory levels, adherence to demand management processes, and material alignment to support production, operational requirements, forecasted revenue and manufacturing plans. The Buyer -Planner works with the site leadership and customer facing teams in achieving Planning and Procurement related deliverables, as per best practices, to align to Creation Performance Objectives. This role is accountable for material availability, cost and should effectively meet both the customer’s needs and our internal supply chain metrics. Success in the role includes a positive, proactive approach to daily work to ensure continuity and quality of materials, maintaining inventory at planned levels and monitoring cost. Should also demonstrate strong communication and organizational skillsDUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with site leadership and customer facing teams on the deployment of material purchasing and material planning goals, strategies and tactics in support of prototype, project based and traditional business models
- Manage and implement the Supply Chain aspects for selected NPI/LEAP Programs
- Provide Clear to Build Analysis and reporting of Material Availability by project, including identification of last part in house
- Creation of, or direction to create, work orders once clear to build
- Responsible for the What-If Scenarios, and MRP demand date management, with forecast and waterfall analysis if applicable
- Act as communication link with production supervisors, warehouse, sales, and quality regarding the flow and financial performance of material through the supply chain process.
- Support and implement the Demand Management related additions, and changes, to the ERP
- Drive cost reduction and supplier negotiations for items not owned by Commodity Management
- Perform Bill of Material (BOM) reviews and collaborate with Program Management and site leadership to support customer material and business needs
- Send Purchase Orders and related reports to suppliers and manage PO actions as required
- Monitor, track, and provide feedback to accurately communicate the PO Status including the evaluation, analysis of PPV/CPV approval processes
- Manage material escalations with Commodity Management and suppliers
- Address and support resolution regarding MRB materials
- Responsible for target customer inventory levels, turns, projection and inventory optimization while championing and supporting Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Programs
- Drive adherence to the customer MSA with respect to E&O, Inventory Turns, PPV Recovery and other Supply Chain related responsibilities
- Determine and manage implementation dates, and material cost impacts, associated with ECOs, part/project end of life and part last time buy.
- Support execution of End of Life (EOL) programs (transfers, project completion, disengagement) regarding customer liability claims, excess and obsolete material, and any related disposition.
- Management and maintenance of Suppliers with activities related to selection, qualification, monitoring performance, and improvement corrective actions
- Work with Finance/Supplier/Commodity Manager to resolve invoice issues
- Escalate to Finance on credit holds and payment terms issues as it applies to supplier deliveries and invoices
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s major in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Commerce, Operations, or equivalent combination of educational and work experience
- Minimum of 3 year of supply chain experience in the electronics or similar industry is required
- Certification or enrollment in APICs or PMAC is preferred
- SIOP Process Management Experience (Desired)
- Lean Supply Chain experience would be beneficial
- ERP system experience within a Supply Chain environment including purchasing and inventory
- Proficient English business communications skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in operating a computer including using a Windows based operating systems and related software
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel (v-lookups, data filters, pivot tables etc.)
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Can act as a liaison between purchasing, customers and other departments within the company.
- Some planning experience within the electronics industry (Preferred)
- Self-motivated team player, able to work well under pressure

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel office equipment, objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
The working environment is generally clean; however, this position may be exposed to occasional dust, metals/solder occasional exposure to high noise levels from operating machines or physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. The employee must wear designated PPE where required. Otherwise, office/business casual attire is appropriate.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $75,000.00- $90,000 annually. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance based bonuses and benefits. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location, and shift. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and hours worked.
