We are looking for a Business Support Specialist to provide a professional level of administrative and business support to the Senior Director of Church Partnerships and Senior Principal Relationship Manager (USA) for the Church Partnerships team 

 

This specialist generally works independently in areas such as high-level administrative support including managing expense reports, calendars and email inboxes, project management, meeting planning and leading, internal and external communications, research, data analysis, change management, business operations and complex reporting.  

 

The incumbent may accomplish any or all of the essential functions, or other professional duties of a professional administrative nature, including recommending or making improvements to significant processes and practices, creating and delivering reports and training and coaching other specialists. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently on complex projects or as a team member on larger projects and processes. 

 

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented, professional, a proactive self-starter and driven with high integrity.  

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.  

  • Acts as an advocate to raise awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry.  

  • Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.  

  • Upholds and engages in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors. 

 

Administrative Support Functions: 

  • Email inbox and calendar support & management 

  • Complex expense report support 

  • Project Management 

  • Liaison between key partners in church partnerships team and other neighbor groups 

  • Meeting and document preparation support and follow-up 

  • Internal data gathering, analysis and reporting 

  • Maintaining IT distribution lists for church partnerships team 

  • Designs and supports culture-building rhythms, team engagement experiences and moments of recognition 

  • Communications support within church partnerships team 

  • Other administrative support for senior leadership.  

  • Ensures leader and team is equipped with key people moments (birthdays, anniversaries) 

 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Provides occasional pipeline management and detailed event and revenue support for fundraisers using enterprise-wide tools such as Salesforce, Tableau and the Microsoft Office product suite. 

  • Reviews business processes and contributes solutions required to address issues, recommends process improvements to aid business operations. including process steps and impact assessment to increase productivity and efficiency.  

  • Provides meaningful input into the development of effective metrics for church partnership team operations and creates reports and dashboards to help surface and maintain data/metrics.  

  • Contributes to the department budget by entering and tracking expenditures and informing management of variances and providing corrective recommendations. 

  • Gathers basic business data such as project costs or metrics, analyzes the information, and presents reports based on this analysis. Serves as a project manager for small to medium-sized projects to maintain progress toward established goals and deadlines.  

  • May perform or support department specific duties sometimes related to other job subfamilies such as, marketing, data analysis, business intelligence, expense report assistance and basic accounting, purchasing, trip support, tours and events, simple facilities requests, and/or program development.  

  • Partners with other groups when required to integrate information and processes across functions. Provides individual contributions and occasional support to various projects as assigned in support of the work of Business Support management and church partnerships leadership.  

  • Prepares and relays communications concerning business operations and outcomes to appropriate audiences to foster understanding and acceptance for initiatives, policies, and practices. Further, supports change integration across projects within the scope of own work. Works to identify change adoption across common audiences as needed.  

  • May liaise between assigned department and others.  

  • The incumbent may provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in their work group and will communicate with internal and external business partners. 

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing executive‑level calendars, email inboxes, travel, and complex expense reports

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support small to medium‑sized projects, track progress, meet deadlines, and coordinate across teams

  • Skilled in internal and external communication, preparing documents, supporting meetings, and serving as a liaison between departments and partners

  • Comfortable using tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint), and other business systems for reporting, data analysis, and operational support

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • At least 5 years of prior relevant work experience required
