Position Summary

We are looking for a data-driven Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team and help transform complex data into actionable business insights. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of intuitive dashboards, the maintenance of our core KPI definitions, and the enablement of self-service analytics across the organization.

As an intermediate-level contributor, you will work with high autonomy to support key functional areas—including Finance, Operations, and Clinical teams—by ensuring our data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with our strategic goals. You are someone who not only enjoys the technical challenge of SQL and data visualization but also possesses the communication skills to tell a story with data and coach business users on how to do the same.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can dig deep into data to derive insights that enable business outcomes and collaborate with our Data team to continuously improve our modeling and reporting standards.

Essential Job Functions

In this role, you will:

  • Dashboarding, Insight, and Self-Service Delivery
    • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations that answer recurring questions (finance, ops, clinical, and/or provider network).
    • Maintain and update KPI definitions (logic, filters, grain) and publish them in the semantic layer and glossary.
    • Support the development of self-service models used by business users.
    • Ensure visuals are intuitive, performant, and consistently drive actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to interpret dashboards and reports and identify opportunities to improve financial performance, care efficiency, and population health outcomes.
    • Manage daily stakeholder needs, including backlog triage, expectation setting, and storytelling.
  • Adhoc & Exploratory Analysis
    • Execute ad-hoc requests: clarify the question, pull data, summarize findings, and recommend next steps.
    • Perform initial root-cause analysis when anomalies surface (e.g., spike in missing NPIs, margin swings) before involving Data team.
  • Data Quality & Trust
    • Audit and validate numbers against source-of-truth reports; raise issues with clear evidence and outline steps to reproduce.
    • Contribute to metric tests/alerts in SQL; log and track defects.
  • Enablement & Documentation
    • Create and update how-to guides, data dictionaries, and dashboard “user guides.”
    • Educate business users on self-service techniques; host office hours or quick hits training sessions.
    • Provide feedback to Data team on missing fields, semantic gaps, or modeling optimizations.
    • Monitor dashboard performance and utilization.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in business intelligence and data analysis or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in healthcare or health plan related work with understanding of cost, utilization, and clinical measures.
  • Intermediate SQL coding knowledge.

It would be great if you have:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence tools.
  • Experience working with Tableau, Snowflake, and Streamlit.

Benefits

  • Automatic 4% employer contribution to retirement plan
  • 401k plan with 100% match up to 6%
  • Flexible time off for vacation, illness, etc.
  • Nine paid holidays
  • Day one health, Rx, vision, and dental insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Flexible spending account
  • Pet coverage and pet Rx discounts
  • Free identity theft protection
  • Free 2nd medical opinion service

Location

Texicare offers a flex-hybrid environment centered around collaboration and connection. All employees must reside in Texas. Team members living in the Austin area are expected to work from our office at least two days per week. Those based outside the greater Austin area may work remotely within Texas, with occasional travel to Austin as needed.

Texicare is an equal opportunity employer.
