Business Intelligence Analyst - Remote

The Myriad Technology organization is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst III to provide dedicated support to the Commercial Operations department. This role requires a candidate passionate about partnering with team members and stakeholders to deliver impactful business results through data analysis, insight generation, and decision support tailored to critical Commercial Operations functions. The position will focus on enhancing stakeholder capabilities in data literacy, self-service analytics, and data accessibility while strengthening the analytical skills of Commercial Operations personnel, including embedded analysts. 

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence. This is considered a mid-level position on the team expected to interact with senior and executive level management. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, proactive, and will come into the role with a strong understanding in analytics and commercial operations support. The ideal candidate will join us already possessing the skills to nurture lasting and positive relationships with key decision-makers and functional partners within our stakeholder groups.

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a crucial role in our technology organization and functional groups, driving data literacy and analytical capabilities. The education and upskilling of individuals the position interacts with daily will allow the organization to leverage our data as a key strategic asset.

Responsibilities

  1. Partner with peers from business intelligence and data engineering functions, as well as Commercial Operations stakeholders, to design and deliver comprehensive data models using dbt and Looker
  2. Outline and facilitate the collection of key data sources needed to drive business insights and direction.
  3. Design and administer a self-service reporting program to support stakeholder reporting and automation needs.
  4. Interpret reporting results and assist in the creation of action plans to drive business objectives.
  5. Drive the creation and administration of Common Definitions leading to accuracy and trust of reporting.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the organization's analytics tools, driving awareness, adoption, and effective usage across teams.
  7. Design and implement enablement strategies that empower teams to make data-driven decisions, including training programs, workshops, and documentation.
  8. Identify gaps and areas of improvement in analytics capabilities and work with technical teams to implement enhancements that improve usability and functionality.
  9. Foster a culture of data literacy by equipping business users with the skills and tools needed to interpret data, build insights, and drive innovation
  10. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex analytics concepts into actionable insights for business users.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Consulting, or equivalent work. Experience in Commercial Operations settings strongly preferred
  3. Intermediate or advanced SQL query development and experience with dimensional data modeling required. DBT experience strongly preferred
  4. Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools (SQL, Snowflake, Looker, Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI) required. Looker experience strongly preferred
  5. Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks using collaboration software and ticketing system. Jira experience strongly preferred
  6. Experience creating documentation and presenting technical solutions using collaborative software. Confluence experience preferred
  7. Experience developing and managing code in a shared repository using source control and following standards and best practices required. Experience with github strongly preferred
  8. U.S. citizen or national, or U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
