Be part of the Next Industrial Revolution – Behind every Sale is a Person

Vimachem builds software for the people who make medicines. Our platform runs on the shop floor of GxP pharma and biotech plants: digital logbooks, weigh and dispense, OEE, electronic batch records and full MES, delivered as one SaaS platform.

Our customers include global pharma companies such as Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, and CDMOs such as Sharp, INCOG BioPharma Services and August Bioservices. We have been recognized as a Great Place to Work for multiple consecutive years.

About the Role

We are seeking an outbound-focused Business Development Representative (BDR) to build our US market as our first US-based business development hire. Through cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn and consistent prospecting, you will open conversations with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies and CDMOs across the United States, and turn them into qualified discovery meetings.

You will report to our Business Development Lead, who is based in Europe and coaches you daily during the US morning. You will hand your meetings to an experienced Account Executive, and you will work directly with our US-based CEO on key accounts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys proactive outreach, is confident initiating conversations with new prospects, and wants to build a market rather than just work a list, while developing their B2B SaaS sales skills in complex enterprise sales within an ambitious technology company.

Why Build Your Sales Career at Vimachem

  • Build a market from the ground up: You will be the first US-based member of our sales team, and the pipeline you create will shape how we grow in the US.
  • Work directly with the CEO: Work closely with our US-based CEO on key accounts and see how enterprise deals are won from the inside.
  • Learn enterprise SaaS sales: Gain hands-on experience in prospecting, qualification, and complex B2B sales with GxP-regulated manufacturers.
  • Work alongside experienced professionals: Collaborate closely with our BD Lead, Account Executives, solution consultants, and company leadership.
  • Differentiated platform: Represent an AI-enabled MES solution combining MES, IIoT, and Pharma 4.0 capabilities.
  • Career development: Build a strong foundation to grow into an Account Executive role as we expand our US team.

What Will You Do as a Business Development Representative

  • Identify and research potential customers within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CDMO manufacturing industries across the US.
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, with a strong emphasis on daily cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn outreach, and other relevant channels.
  • Initiate conversations with new prospects and key decision-makers across manufacturing, operations, quality, IT, and digital transformation functions.
  • Consistently execute outbound outreach activities to build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Generate qualified sales opportunities and schedule discovery meetings for our Account Executive.
  • Collaborate with the BD Lead and Sales team to develop targeted outbound strategies.
  • Maintain accurate prospect information, cold calling activities, outreach records, and pipeline updates in HubSpot CRM.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects through structured, multi-channel outreach sequences.
  • Work toward clearly defined weekly activity and performance targets, including outbound calls, prospecting activities, qualified meetings, and pipeline generation.
  • Continuously develop your understanding of Vimachem's products, the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, and B2B SaaS sales best practices.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, or another outbound B2B sales role, with a track record of cold calling against activity and meeting targets.
  • Strong interest in technology, SaaS solutions, and B2B sales.
  • Familiarity with outbound sales prospecting, cold calling techniques, and CRM tools (HubSpot and Gong experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence and enthusiasm to initiate conversations with new prospects through cold calls, email, and LinkedIn.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a willingness to take initiative and create opportunities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects and follow-up activities.
  • The independence to work well as the first US-based member of a growing team.
  • Resilience, persistence, and a positive attitude toward cold calling, proactive outreach, and handling rejection.
  • Ability to understand customer challenges, ask relevant questions, and communicate value effectively.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS, manufacturing software, or Life Sciences is considered a strong advantage.
