The Opportunity

The Business Development Operations Analyst will support Root's Business Development team by helping coordinate the processes, systems, and workflows that power our partnerships and independent agents organization. Working closely with Business Development leaders and cross-functional teams, you'll assist with partner onboarding, contracting, commission administration, CRM management, reporting, and other key operational functions.


Success in this role means ensuring operational processes run smoothly, maintaining accurate data and systems, and helping the Business Development team execute efficiently.


Salary Range:  $73,200 - $88,400 (Eligible for Competitive Bonus & Equity Offering)

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Manage day-to-day operational activities for the Business Development team, ensuring partner requests and internal workflows are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate partner onboarding activities across Business Development, Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations, escalating risks or blockers when needed.
  • Manage contracting workflows by tracking agreement status, maintaining records, and coordinating internal reviews and approvals.
  • Support commission and incentive payment processes, including calculations, approvals, reconciliation, issue resolution, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate partner records, account information, pipeline data, and operational reporting within Monday.com CRM and other business systems.
  • Review existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop recommendations for the Sales Operations leader.
  • Implement approved process changes, automations, and workflows that reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and resources that help teams work consistently and effectively.
  • Investigate operational issues, propose next steps, and coordinate with stakeholders through resolution.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements, support projects, and keep key initiatives moving forward.
  • Provide operational support for Business Development programs, initiatives, and partner relationships.
  • Help build scalable operational practices as Root’s partnership and independent agent organizations continue to grow.


What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 4+ years of experience in business operations, sales operations, partnership operations, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage established processes and operational workstreams.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues, develop recommendations, and seek alignment before implementing material changes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize competing needs and follow through on commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and risks.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms, with Monday.com experience preferred, and maintaining data quality and system accuracy.
  • Experience supporting contracting, procurement, commission, or vendor management processes.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and proficiency with business productivity and reporting tools.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, take ownership of execution, and escalate decisions appropriately.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make progress with limited day-to-day direction, and recognize when leadership input is required.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and business concepts.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support a range of operational and cross-functional priorities.
