Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification, development, and pursuit of new business opportunities within assigned markets.

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this role focuses on expanding municipal market presence, strengthening strategic relationships, and positioning the PURIS Family of Companies for sustained growth.

The Business Development Manager works closely with Estimating, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment between sales strategy, operational capabilities, and customer expectations while promoting PURIS solutions across the water and wastewater infrastructure markets.


Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Executes annual business development and sales plans to support revenue, margin, and growth objectives within assigned territory.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with municipalities, engineering firms, general contractors, subcontractors, and key industry partners.
  • Develops and expands municipal markets through proactive engagement and long-term relationship building.
  • Supports the public bid process by: 
    • Identifying and tracking bid opportunities using bid tracking services and market intelligence.
    • Participating in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and bid openings.
    • Assisting with pursuit strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Supports specification development efforts by working with municipalities and engineers to introduce trenchless rehabilitation solutions in new and existing markets.
  • Maintains visibility into future work through market research and ongoing engagement with clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of all client interactions, bids, and proposals within the CRM system.
  • Supports marketing initiatives including client presentations, lunch-and-learns, industry associations, and trade shows.
  • Represents the PURIS Family of Companies professionally within industry and local communities.
  • Performs other business development and sales responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following: 
    • Trenchless rehabilitation or pipeline services
    • Utility or civil construction
    • Environmental services
    • Infrastructure or engineering services
  • Strong understanding of the municipal bid process and public sector procurement.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers in complex sales environments.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Ability to travel as required within assigned territory.
