We’re hiring a Business Development Manager and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and executing strategic growth initiatives within targeted industry verticals. This role focuses on identifying, penetrating, and expanding relationships with high-value customers whose equipment rental needs align with EquipmentShare’s product and service offerings. 

The BDM will work cross-functionally with Territory Account Managers (TAMs), District Sales Managers (DSMs), and Branch Operations teams to develop vertical-specific strategies, generate new business opportunities, and accelerate revenue growth within priority markets. 

This role is highly strategic and externally focused, requiring strong prospecting, relationship development, and specific industry expertise to position EquipmentShare as a trusted partner in targeted vertical markets. 

Salary range: $120-$140k. Factors including past experience and location may affect final compensation rate. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to penetrate assigned industry verticals (e.g., data centers, utilities, infrastructure, renewable energy, industrial, etc.). 
  • Identify high-value accounts and market opportunities within specified vertical. 
  • Build relationships with decision makers, project owners, general contractors, and procurement leaders.

Business Development 

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new strategic accounts within target industries.
  • Generate qualified opportunities for EquipmentShare branches and sales teams. 
  • Collaborate with TAMs and DSMs to convert opportunities into revenue-producing customers. 

Market Intelligence 

  • Track emerging industry trends, major project pipelines, and competitive activity.
  • Provide market intelligence to regional leadership and branch teams.
  • Identify equipment and solution gaps that could support industry expansion. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with:
    • Territory Account Managers
    • Branch Managers
    • Advanced Solutions teams
    • National Accounts (when applicable) 
  • Support large opportunity strategy, including proposal development and customer presentations. 

Strategic Account Development

  • Support growth of high-potential accounts by:
    • Expanding share of wallet
    • Introducing additional service offerings
    • Facilitating long-term partnerships 

Industry Representation 

  • Represent EquipmentShare at industry trade shows, associations, and networking events. 
  • Build brand recognition within target markets.

Skills & Qualifications 
  • Strong consultative selling and prospecting skills 
  • Ability to identify and penetrate complex customer organizations
  • Strategic thinking and market development 
  • Executive-level relationship management 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

Preferred 

  • Experience selling into specific verticals such as:
    • Data centers
    • Energy / utilities
    • Infrastructure
    • Industrial / manufacturing
    • Renewable energy 
Experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Equipment rental
    • Construction industry sales
    • Strategic business development
    • Industrial or infrastructure markets
