ABOUT THE ROLE
Byte&Kite is a digital marketing agency helping clients across a range of industries grow through effective digital marketing. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for winning new client accounts and managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and referrals through discovery, pitching, proposal development, negotiation and close. You will work closely with delivery teams to ensure opportunities are well-qualified, commercially sound and aligned with what the agency can successfully deliver.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Generate new-business pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals and professional networks
Identify and engage potential clients that are a strong fit for Byte&Kite's services
Run discovery calls and qualify opportunities based on client needs, budget, timeline and the agency's capabilities
Develop proposals and pitch presentations in collaboration with delivery and creative teams
Lead client pitches and clearly communicate the value of Byte&Kite's services
Build commercial proposals and defend pricing based on the value and scope of the work
Negotiate commercial terms and close new client agreements
Work with delivery teams to scope opportunities accurately before making commitments to clients
Maintain accurate pipeline information and provide regular updates on sales activity and forecasts
Ensure a smooth handover to account management with a clear and complete picture of client expectations, scope and commitments
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
3+ years of new-business sales experience, ideally in a digital marketing agency, professional services or another consultative B2B environment
Proven track record of winning new business and closing recurring or retained client engagements
Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and close
Strong consultative selling skills and ability to understand a client's business challenges before positioning a solution
Confident presenting proposals and discussing commercial terms directly with decision-makers
Ability to defend pricing and negotiate effectively without relying on unnecessary discounting
Strong understanding of how to scope opportunities and collaborate with delivery teams before making client commitments
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Comfortable working with sales targets, pipeline management and CRM systems
NICE TO HAVE
Digital marketing agency experience; existing B2B network; experience selling SEO, paid media, content or creative services; HubSpot or similar CRM experience; RFP experience; and experience selling to marketing leaders or other senior decision-makers.
