About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and connected Business Development Manager, Services to drive strategic partnerships, policy alignment, and new business referrals for our cybersecurity incident response and proactive services (threat hunting, table-top exercises, risk assessments).
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and technical solutions, positioning the company as a preferred partner for federal, state, and local agencies. You will leverage high-level relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to generate, nurture, and close leads for urgent, high-value cyber engagements.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Relationship Management: Build and maintain high-level relationships with policymakers, C-suite government officials, agency procurement leaders, and key stakeholders within DoD/Civilian agencies to position our services as the trusted choice.
Referral Generation & Pipeline Growth: Drive net-new revenue by identifying and qualifying cybersecurity opportunities (incident response, proactive assessments) through strategic partnerships, policy influencing, and networking.
Government Policy & Advocacy: Monitor and interpret emerging federal and state legislative/regulatory developments (e.g., CMMC, NIST, state privacy laws) to shape our public sector go-to-market strategy and assist agencies in understanding their security compliance needs.
Proactive & Reactive Engagement: Develop initiatives that drive proactive services (e.g., threat hunting, tabletop exercises) to prevent incidents, while simultaneously acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders during reactive, emergency situations.
Capture Strategy & Collaboration: Collaborate with technical SMEs and sales teams to align our capabilities with customer requirements, developing proposals, white papers, and business cases for competitive bids.
Industry Influence & Brand Visibility: Represent the company at trade associations, advisory boards, and policy forums to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership in the public sector.
What You’ll Need:
Experience: 10+ years in federal/state business development, government affairs, or policy roles, with at least 5 years focused on cybersecurity, specifically in incident response or critical infrastructure protection.
Network: An active, established network within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), Federal civilian agencies, and/or state/local government.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of government procurement processes (RFQs, RFPs, GSA schedules) and regulatory landscapes (NIST, DFARS).
Communication: Exceptional, persuasive communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical vulnerabilities and incident response procedures to non-technical policy audiences.
Leadership: Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams to close complex deals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Cybersecurity, Public Policy, or related field is preferred
