The Business Development Manager is expected to proactively identify new business opportunities, initiate strategic relationships, and effectively position UHY’s services to prospective clients. This role requires the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple relationships and opportunities concurrently.JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Development & Strategic Growth
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to identify and pursue new client opportunities across multiple industries
Initiate and nurture relationships with potential clients at senior management and C-suite levels
Qualify new business opportunities and coordinate with partners and practice leads to develop tailored proposals
Network actively through industry events, professional associations, and business communities
Research and analyze market trends to identify emerging opportunities and client needs
Collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to create compelling value propositions
Maintain a strong sales pipeline, tracking opportunities and activities in Salesforce
Lead client meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions
Performance Metrics & Impact
Drive new client acquisition and revenue growth through targeted business development efforts
Convert a robust pipeline into revenue-generating opportunities
Expand market presence by identifying and cultivating qualified opportunities
Strengthen long-term strategic relationships to enhance business success
Preferred Network Strengths
Strong connections with C-Suite executives and decision-makers
Established relationships within Private Equity and investment circles
Experience working with FP&A professionals and financial strategists
Active involvement in industry organizations and professional associations
Engagement with CFOs, Controllers, and Business Owners to drive business opportunities
Understanding of and experience working with Middle Market Companies

Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, marketing or equivalent experience
5+ years of proven business development experience
Strong understanding of accounting services and business advisory solutions
Experience leveraging a CRM tool for report generation and sales tracking
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint) and Salesforce software
Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Outstanding presentation and communication skills
Ability to understand and articulate complex service offerings
Preferred education and experience
Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, marketing or equivalent experience
Experience in professional service environment, such as a CPA firm, financial consulting firm, or similar setting
