Join Cubist as we solve the single biggest bottleneck in institutional crypto: the trade-off between key security and execution speed.

For trading firms, every millisecond of latency is lost PnL, and every security compromise is an existential threat. CubeSigner solves this by letting market makers, hedge funds, and other algorithmic trading firms automate transaction signing with the speed of a hot wallet but the security of true hardware custody.

We are looking for a Business Development Lead (Trading) to own the full commercial lifecycle for our trading vertical. You will not just find the leads; you’ll close commercial terms, be involved in the integration, and own the long-term relationship.

You’ll report to the President and work directly with the builders of one of the most advanced digital asset platforms in the industry. CubeSigner is already trusted by leading protocols and institutions, and our expansion into capital markets is just beginning.

About the Role

This is a full-cycle role for a commercial operator who understands market structure. You will spearhead Cubist’s expansion into the trading ecosystem, targeting HFTs, prop shops, and family offices.

You will act as a consultative partner to CTOs, Heads of Trading, and COOs. You will move the relationship from "initial interest" to "architectural buy-in" to "signed contract"—and then remain their primary commercial partner as they scale.

Key Responsibilities

Origination: Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of trading firms, market makers, and liquidity providers. Identify targets where CubeSigner’s latency and security advantages create immediate ROI. Get us into the room with the right decision-makers, whether through your existing network, cold outreach, or industry events.

Structuring & Closing:

  • Architect the Opportunity: Work directly with prospective clients to understand their trading stack (co-location, signing latency and chain requirements), and map exactly how CubeSigner solves their specific pain points, while demonstrating how C2F (Confidential Cloud Functions) allows them to build custom risk engines and policy checks.

  • Solution Selling: Collaborate with our Engineering team to scope proofs-of-concept that prove technical value, ensuring the prospect sees a clear path to production.

  • Close: Lead commercial negotiations, structuring agreements that capture value for Cubist while aligning with the client’s business model.

Relationship Ownership: You will own the relationship post-signature. You are the client's champion inside Cubist and their primary point of contact for commercial growth. As clients expand to new chains or increase AUM, you will drive upsell opportunities.

About You

You speak the language of traders. You understand that "security" in this context isn't just about not getting hacked—it's about uptime, reliability during volatility, and the ability to execute when the market moves.

  • Experience: 7+ years in business development or institutional sales within crypto, fintech, or capital markets.

  • Full Cycle Mindset: You are comfortable handling the entire process—from cold outreach to contract redlines to quarterly business reviews.

  • Technical Fluency: You can confidently discuss concepts like private key management, latency, API connectivity, and market microstructure. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to earn the respect of one.

  • Closer Mentality: You are driven by revenue and results. You are organized, proactive, and capable of navigating complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.

About Cubist

Cubist is a self-custody operating system for programmable money, tokenized assets, and onchain finance across public and private blockchains. We empower global institutions like banks, payment processors, trading firms, and crypto protocols to safely automate digital asset operations using their own sensitive data and business logic. This is possible because of Cubist’s:

  • Security: Keys are safeguarded using FIPS-140 certified HSMs and TEEs.

  • Speed and Scale: CubeSigner signs transactions 200+x faster than MPC-based solutions, with horizontal scaling to millions of TPS.

  • Programmable Policy Engine: Customers define exactly when each key can sign (e.g., “only mint if collateral > X”, “only transfer if internal KYC has passed,” etc.).

  • Confidential Cloud Functions (C2F): With C2F, customers run “private smart contracts”: complex logic—such as compliance checks—that executes inside secure hardware and produces cryptographic proof of exactly what ran.

About the Cubist Team

Cubist’s founders include a former fintech COO, and cryptography and security professors from UC San Diego and Carnegie Mellon University who collectively have published more than 90 papers on computer security. Members of our team designed the cryptography underlying Ethereum and Avalanche and we’re backed by top-tier investors including Polychain, dao5, and Paxos.

Compensation & Perks
  • Competitive base salary, performance-based commission, and equity package

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits

  • Company-sponsored 401(k)

  • Home-office stipend

  • Company retreats and offsites
