Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for business development within Applied Technology with a primary focus on supporting and driving business within US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Headquarters. Based in Tampa, FL, you will promote and maintain strong business relationships with SOCOM stakeholders and strive to leverage existing programs while creating new market possibilities for specialized mission sets.
As part of the AT Business Development team, you will provide technical support to customers, demonstrate capabilities to current and potential partners, and interpret complex requirements to ensure AT products exceed expectations for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community. You will work collaboratively across the organization including: Business Development, Field Services, Development Engineering, Early Capture, and Senior Management.
Specific responsibilities include:
Demonstrate AT products to SOCOM leadership and program offices, emphasizing advantages for Airborne and UAS-integrated missions.
Grow the business by identifying opportunities within the SOF enterprise and providing technical support to facilitate business capture.
Interpret customer requirements regarding Fixed Wing and UAS Group 1-3 platforms, communicating these needs to development teams to influence product roadmaps.
Manage the business development process, with specific attention to SOF-specific opportunity identification, screening, forecasting, and capture.
Participate in internal product testing and technical experiments (TEs) to ensure features are optimized for Airborne environments and ruggedized SOF use cases.
Support trade shows (such as SOF Week), technical experiments, and industry days by showcasing AT’s advantages in the tactical communications space.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
Deep familiarity and experience with Airborne mission requirements and tactical integration.
Proven experience with UAS Groups 1-3 and Fixed Wing aviation operations.
Strong working knowledge of USSOCOM HQ structure, acquisition processes, and the SOFCIDS / UFR process.
Strong understanding of SIGINT/EW/ELINT/Cyber and Secure COMMS product requirements and sustainment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate the unique culture of the Special Operations community.
Must be technically savvy with the ability to bridge the gap between company technical capabilities and complex operator requirements.
Ability to travel on a regular basis (5-10 days/month) to support testing and customer engagements.

Target Base Salary Range: $86,500 - $155,000 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years experience and must have substantial knowledge of the U.S. defense industry as well as its leadership structure and personnel (military and civilian).
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract. Some contracts may have higher-level clearance requirements.
