TextUs is the leading SMS platform that enables marketers and sellers to increase engagement with prospects and customers 5-10X over email ultimately driving significantly increased pipeline creation and higher win rates.


We’re looking for a contract Business Development Consultant to accelerate our growth with performance marketing agencies and publishers. These segments rely heavily on email marketing to drive engagement and revenue. By adding TextUs as a complementary SMS messaging channel, these companies can expect to increase campaign conversion rates 2-3X and meaningfully differentiate themselves versus the competition.


THE OPPORTUNITY

You’ll be the rainmaker for our agency & cross-sell motion: building targeted lists, running multi‑channel outreach, generating / qualifying leads, and setting up high‑quality meetings for AEs to manage / close. This could lead to a full-time (W2) role based on your performance and fit with the sales team.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Market Mapping & Targeting:
  • Define and continuously refine ICPs across New Agency Prospects and New Teams within Enterprise Customer Accounts.

Lead Generation:

  • Execute daily multi‑channel prospecting (email, phone, LinkedIn, SMS).
  • Craft and test sequences, call talk tracks, and short-form value props tailored to agencies / publishers.
  • Maintain consistent activity volume and quality.
  1. Qualification & Meeting Setting:
  • Conduct discovery to confirm fit (pain, impact, decision process, timeline, stakeholders, budget alignment).
  • Book, confirm, and pre‑brief AEs for discovery/demos; share account notes, context, and desired outcomes.
  1. Reporting, Process & Hygiene:
  • Keep CRM spotless: contacts, activities, notes, stages, and next steps.
  • Weekly reporting on funnel metrics; share insights on messaging tests, objections, competitive notes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outreach copy, one‑pagers, and case studies specific to agencies/publishers.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years of experience as a BDR or AE in MarTech / AdTech using strictly an outbound demand generation motion.
  • Fluent in multi‑threaded, multi‑channel outbound; excellent concise copywriting.
  • Tools: CRM (Salesforce), sales engagement (Hubspot), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, data providers (e.g., ZoomInfo), scheduling tools.
  • High ownership as a contractor: reliable cadence, disciplined documentation, proactive communication.

SUCCESS METRICS (KPIs)

  • Outreach cadence: daily multi‑touch activity
  • New demos or discovery calls: 5 meetings per week
  • Opportunities created: 10 opportunities per month
  • Pipeline influenced: $250k ARR per month
  • Data hygiene SLAs: notes/next steps logged within 24 hours; 100% stage accuracy

CONTRACT STRUCTURE & COMPENSATION

  • Engagement: 3 month contract, with option to extend.
  • Comp: $100 per meeting completed and 3% of closed ARR
  • Equipment: You provide your own laptop, headset, and reliable connectivity.
  • Availability: Core collaboration hours overlapping U.S. EST; attend weekly pipeline reviews and AE deal syncs.
  • Confidentiality & Compliance: Standard NDA; adherence to all messaging and data‑privacy requirements.
