About the Role:

We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to join our Nonfleet business unit. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a “startup within a startup” and drive business growth from the ground up. You'll play a critical role in discovering + building relationships with agency partners, and execute innovative ideas + strategies to help us develop new agency channels.

We're a remote-first, distributed team. For this role we’re open to candidates located in the United States.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prospect, identify and vet agency opportunities across the United States.

  • Build relationships with agents, brokers and key decision makers.

  • Develop and execute plans to achieve production goals and accelerate Nirvana’s growth.

  • Help agents and insureds understand the value of our unique safety tools.

  • Collaborate with product and underwriting to drive profitable growth.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to iterate on our product offering(s).

  • Travel as necessary to meet the responsibilities outlined above.

About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance. Strong preference for experience in commercial auto and/or transportation.

  • 3+ years of field sales and/or program marketing experience.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Bias-to-action - you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself.

  • Owner mentality - take accountability for your actions and results.

  • Successfully able to work in high-growth and ambiguous start-up environments.

  • Strong collaborator with team members based across the country and the world.

  • Existing professional network among leading transportation agents / brokers is a plus.

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 + variable. The actual base salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process.
