About This role:

The Business Development Analyst plays a crucial role in Crusoe's expansion by identifying and evaluating promising data center locations. This role directly impacts Crusoe's growth trajectory by providing critical economic and market analysis that informs strategic decisions. You will be instrumental in developing economic models, conducting due diligence, and preparing presentations for senior leadership, contributing directly to securing new data center sites. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience in financial modeling, and a passion for the energy and technology sectors. You are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams. 

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Economic Modeling: Develop detailed economic models for Digital Flare Mitigation opportunities and analyze primary and backup power pricing at potential data center sites.

  • Data Analysis & Due Diligence: Utilize internal data analytics tools to identify ideal data center sites and markets, considering factors like renewable development, gas availability, and land parcel buildability. Support the team in site due diligence and ad-hoc studies.

  • Presentation Development: Create compelling board-level presentations and project approval materials for Crusoe's senior management and Board of Directors.

  • Pipeline Management: Maintain the Data Center Opportunity pipeline in Crusoe’s CRM, ensuring project statuses are up-to-date and key pipeline metrics are tracked.

  • Market Research: Track hyperscaler and co-located data center activities, including expansion projects and other commercial developments.

  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide ad-hoc reporting to the Business Development team and share information cross-functionally as needed.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to the team’s organizational processes around project management and pipeline activities.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Education & Experience: College degree and 0-3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Financial Modeling Skills: Experience in private equity or investment banking is highly desired.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to understand and craft narratives to support business decisions, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at various levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

  • Work Ethic: Self-motivated and able to consistently deliver results under strict time constraints, with a high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $60,000 - $80,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
