Xylem is seeking a driven Business Development Specialist to accelerate growth in our Evoqua Heavy Industry segment. If you know the world of power plants, wastewater operations, utilities, or heavy industrial water systems, this role puts your industry expertise to work.
What You’ll Do:- Drive growth in the power generation and wastewater sectors through targeted business development.
- Identify revenue opportunities and strengthen Xylem’s presence in critical infrastructure markets.
- Enhance sales and marketing strategies tailored to power plants, treatment facilities, EPCs, and industrial operators.
- Analyze competitors, regulations, and market trends to expand market share.
- Build strong relationships with plant leaders, engineers, and operators.
- Lead high‑value negotiations and close deals that deliver long-term profitability.
- Engineering degree (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, environmental) or equivalent industry experience.
- Solid technical understanding of water/wastewater treatment and industrial chemistry.
- Experience in Power Generation, CPI, HPI, or similar heavy industry environments.
- Strong business development or sales engineering background.
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce, NetSuite).
- Excellent communication and influence across technical and operations teams.
- Ability to manage projects from planning to execution.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
- People who understand how plants run—and what keeps them up at night
(compliance, uptime, reliability, cost control). - Advisors who can connect technical challenges to strategic solutions.
- Confident communicators who can influence operators, engineers, and executives alike.
