Job Description
A Bit About this Role
As the Business Applications Manager, you will bridge the gap between our technology and finance teams. Reporting to the Business Applications Director, you will drive the strategy, integration, and optimization of our financial tech stack, while providing hands-on administrative support for the corporate Finance Department’s applications. This is an individual contributor role with ownership over the financial tech stack
Devoted is growing rapidly. To support our trajectory, we are actively re-evaluating our existing systems—sometimes building from a blank slate to ensure long-term scalability. While NetSuite is our core financial system, you will administer, maintain, and integrate a modern, evolving tech stack (including Tipalti, Cube, and Kyriba) which also includes our proprietary technology platform, Orinoco.
We are looking for a professional who pairs robust NetSuite and application administration expertise with a strong compliance and project management mindset. While day-to-day end-user support and system maintenance are central to the role, a substantial portion of your focus will be on internal controls, audit preparation, and segregation of duty (SoD) management. The ideal candidate isn't just an administrator; they are an end-to-end process owner who can independently drive projects from requirements gathering to deployment, communicate effectively with leadership, and thoughtfully champion the evolution and security of our financial ecosystems.
Responsibilities will include
Tech Stack Administration: Provide day-to-day administrative support, user management, and access control for NetSuite and other core finance applications (Tipalti, Cube, Kyriba).
Own NetSuite Operations: Manage the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and configuration of the NetSuite system.
Internal Controls & Audit Support: Partner with Finance to ensure all systems, processes, and controls align with Model Audit Rule (MAR) and internal policies and procedures. A major focus of this role centers on controls, including owning monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual detective control documentation, providing robust audit support, and managing segregation of duty (SoD) considerations.
Process Improvement & Project Management: Demonstrate experience in project management by owning process improvements from start-to-finish. You will lead cross-functional efforts through requirements gathering, solutioning, building, testing, deploying, and final documentation.
Evaluate Upgrades: Review and implement new NetSuite functionality and bi-annual updates to optimize system performance.
Troubleshooting: Act as the primary support to resolve system errors, data discrepancies, and workflow bottlenecks.
Connect the Stack: Identify system integration opportunities across NetSuite, third-party finance apps, Workday, and our proprietary Orinoco platform. Rather than coding pipelines solo, you will gather requirements and partner with cross-functional teams (including developers) to drive implementation, subsequently owning the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of these connections.
Data Integrity & Analytics: Perform routine data audits, execute complex queries, and build custom dashboards/reports to provide actionable business insights.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as a technical interface between Finance, IT, external vendors, and broader business units. Build and maintain a positive, trusting relationship between development, IT, HR and other business areas.
Required Skills and Experience
Mission-Driven: You genuinely care about our mission. At Devoted, we treat our members like our own mother and father.
NetSuite & App Administration: Deep, hands-on knowledge of core NetSuite functionality (security, roles/permissions, business processes, reporting) and general application administration with 3+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration experience, ideally within a regulated environment (SOX/MAR).
End-to-End Project Delivery: Strong background in lifecycle project management, with a proven track record of owning process improvements from initial requirements gathering down to deployment and documentation.
Autonomous & Communicative: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balanced with a clear understanding of when to escalate issues and communicate up to leadership. Must be an effective verbal and written communicator.
Responsible AI Mindset: A balanced approach to innovation, possessing the critical thinking required to evaluate, test, and adopt AI tools responsibly. You understand how to leverage AI to drive efficiencies while carefully safeguarding data integrity, internal compliance protocols, and system security.
Finance Workflow Savvy: Strong foundational background in accounting, corporate Finance workflows, system implementations, and day-to-day production support.
Problem-Solving Mindset: Analytical and process-oriented with a proven ability to balance routine administrative tasks with long-term project deadlines and strict compliance requirements.
Relentlessly Resourceful: You have a "roll up your sleeves" attitude, thrive with minimal guidance in a fast-paced virtual (remote) environment, and know how to say "no" to shiny distractions to keep core system support and projects on track.
An Exceptional Collaborator: You excel at building trusting relationships across multidisciplinary teams (IT, HR, Dev, and Finance).
Desired (Plus) Attributes: Technical or administrative familiarity with Tipalti, Cube, or Kyriba. Ability to read and troubleshoot SuiteScript (writing code is a plus, but not required). NetSuite certifications.
Salary range: $110,000-147,000 annually
