About this role:
Business Analysts at Health Catalyst (Upfront Healthcare) serve as trusted partners to our clients, combining technical expertise, analytical thinking, and strong effective communication to deliver measurable value through our platform. In this role, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand program goals, translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensure successful implementation and ongoing optimization.
You will support both implementation and post-go-live operations by owning configuration, data mapping, data validation, testing, and troubleshooting. You will help clients achieve adoption and outcomes by ensuring workflows are accurate, scalable, and aligned to business objectives—while maintaining a strong focus on data quality, operational excellence, and patient experience.
As a Business Analyst, you are both technically capable and relationship driven. You know how to ask the right questions, uncover root causes, and guide stakeholders toward the best solution. Your work directly contributes to long-term client success, improved patient engagement, and stronger partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem.
What you’ll own:
- Design and configure technical solutions for client implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Develop data mapping guides, process, best practices, and document new integrations for client implementation
- Collaborate with project lead to analyze and refine requirements for successful client implementations
- Identify and communicate when business requirements and requests fall out of project scope
- Consistently meet project milestones by delivering high-quality work on time
- Provide important levels of communication to internal team, provide visibility, and escalate risk or issues as needed
- Execute data analysis to gather insights for designing solution, identify and establish data standards
- Perform data quality control for accuracy, anomaly, and conformance with data intake specifications
- Lead configuration testing and client user acceptance test
- Partner cross-functionally with Product and Support to ensure product enhancements align with client needs and assist with issue investigation and resolution
- Champion the success of our clients and our teammates
- Care about consumer privacy, help ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures
- Serve as a platform expert by advising clients on high-value use cases and translating customer goals into actionable recommendations
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience in healthcare technology implementation, integration, quality assurance, or data analysis
- 1+ years of proven experience using SQL
- Passionate about client success and data quality
- Detail-oriented problem-solver with superior analytical and evaluative skills, and strong deductive reasoning ability
- Strong initiative and personal accountability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited higher education institution or equivalent role experience (1+ yrs)
Information Security and Compliance Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with training directives required by the organization pertaining to Information Security, Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security.
- Adhere to and comply with the organizations Acceptable Use Policy.
- Safeguard information system assets by identifying and reporting potential and actual security events to the organizations Security and Compliance Officers.
