We are looking for a contract Braze Messaging Specialist to work with us on a part-time, contract basis 20 hours per week.
This is a fully remote role, but candidates must reside in the United States for consideration. The majority of the work will take place on weekdays between 10 am and 3 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Who are We?

The Motley Fool is a purpose-driven financial services company on a mission to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. For 30 years we’ve been helping people make better investment decisions through transparency, education, and Foolish fun. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team that values high-quality work, curiosity, and initiative. We care deeply about what we do, and we’re driven by the impact our work has on real people’s financial futures.

What does this team do?

The Premium Email and Messaging team is responsible for the "last mile" of our member experience. We ensure that our high-value investing research and time-sensitive market updates reach our members exactly when they need them. We manage the technical execution of our messaging strategy across email, SMS, and in-app channels to drive engagement and help our members stay informed.

What Will You Do in This Role?

In this execution-focused role, you will be the primary engine behind our deployment in Braze. While our editorial team provides the "what" (the copy), you will own the "how"—building the campaigns, refining the audience targeting, and ensuring every message is sent flawlessly. You'll be the guardian of our send quality, making sure that when an investor opens an email from The Motley Fool, the experience is seamless and accurate.

Success in this role requires a high degree of technical precision and the ability to pivot quickly. Whether you are setting up a complex A/B test or troubleshooting Liquid logic for a personalized send, your focus will be on maintaining a high standard of excellence. You will work independently to meet tight deadlines, particularly during core hours when market events move fast.

Okay, but what will you actually do in this role?
  • Input provided email copy into Braze and schedule sends to the appropriate audience segments.

  • Build and manage multi-channel campaigns, including SMS, Content Cards, and In-App Messages within the Braze platform.

  • Set up and execute A/B tests based on provided designs, delivering performance reports within 24 hours of completion.

  • Maintain an exceptional, error-free messaging send rate of 95% or above on a monthly basis.

  • Adjust and refine audience targeting within Braze to ensure the right members receive the right updates.

  • Edit messaging content for technical accuracy, clarity, and formatting within the CMS and Braze.

  • Provide feedback to the team to help optimize deployment workflows and improve message delivery.

Required Experience:
  • Hands-on proficiency with Braze, including deep experience with campaign setup, segmentation, and scheduling.

  • Experience managing multi-channel messaging flows (Email, SMS, Content Cards, etc.).

  • A working knowledge of HTML and Liquid logic—or a demonstrated ability to learn these technical skills quickly.

  • Exceptional attention to detail; you are someone who double-checks everything to ensure accuracy.

  • Strong research and troubleshooting skills to resolve deployment issues independently.

  • The ability to work under deadlines and manage shifting priorities as market conditions change.

  • Availability and responsiveness during core hours (Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern Time).

  • A solid understanding of—or interest in—financial concepts and the principles of Foolish investing.
