Job DescriptionAfter a decade serving loyal TRUEWERK customers through our successful ecommerce and enterprise channels, we’re excited to bring our performance workwear to retail stores for the first time ever! We’re looking for passionate and experienced wholesale or retail apparel merchandisers located in or near Central Colorado, Southern Wisconsin, or Northern Illinois to join us in this exciting journey.
You know that feeling when a store display just works—when the gear’s dialed, the team’s fired up, and the whole space screams performance? That’s what you’ll create as a TRUEWERK Brand Field Representative. You’ll be our boots on the ground in retail stores—building relationships with associates, running product deep-dives, fine-tuning merchandising, and making sure TRUEWERK shows up strong every time.
If you love being on the move, talking shop, and making workwear look damn good—we’ve got your next mission.
This is an in-the-field role that requires travel up to 75% of the month to retail locations in Washington, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Missouri - with more to come! You will also be expected to visit TRUEWERK’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado twice a year for seasonal product launches.
In this role, you will:
Plan and Execute Store Visits
- Map out weekly store routes and schedule visits in advance, including coordinating associate training sessions.
- Visit stores on a weekly basis, ranging from 4 - 10 stores in each region, to maintain a strong and consistent field presence and ensure retail displays reflect TRUEWERK’s brand standards.
- Gather on-the-ground intel during store visits—identify competitor brands, track which products are selling, and make note of retail shoppers’ feedback.
- Identify stores that may need additional support or more frequent visits based on visual displays and inventory findings.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the TRUEWERK Wholesale Leader to share insights, ask questions, and support the health of each retail relationship.
Represent the TRUEWERK Brand In-Store
- Serve as the face of the TRUEWERK brand in retail locations, building strong relationships with key store associates, particularly in the workwear section.
- Proactively engage with retail shoppers during store visits to increase brand awareness and highlight product benefits.
- Check in with store managers to assess sell-through, answer product questions, and explore opportunities to optimize inventory or increase model stock.
- Conduct engaging and informative Tech Sessions to educate store associates on TRUEWERK products, highlighting features, benefits, use cases, and brand storytelling.
- Act as a brand ambassador, inspiring associates to represent TRUEWERK with confidence and enthusiasm, growing a documented Werk Crew Community—our group of in-store advocates and brand champions.
Maintain Visual Merchandising & Inventory Standards
- Evaluate the apparel display and surrounding area upon arrival, ensuring displays are clean, hangers are branded, and all signage and graphics are up to date and in good condition.
- Organize product displays according to planograms and arrange garments by style, color, and size to improve the shopping experience and support TRUEWERK brand consistency.
- Install new seasonal marketing and POP (point-of-purchase) materials, removing outdated collateral.
- Check the stock room and sales floor to ensure all products and sizes are represented, and count items on the displays to ensure proper quantities are being maintained.
- Collaborate with store staff to optimize inventory placement and identify opportunities for product seeding or remerchandising.
Communicate Insights and Collaborate Internally
- Complete post-visit reports, ideally by the end of the day, including clear, well-composed photos and written summaries that document store conditions, insights, and actions taken.
- Alert store managers when proper inventory is not available at a retail location, and work with the TRUEWERK Wholesale Leader to make sure replenishment orders are being placed by the Retail Buyer.
- Participate in twice-weekly check-ins with the wholesale function, at the beginning of the week for planning and at the end of the week for a recap of results.
- Participate in monthly video calls with TRUEWERK Wholesale Leaders and/or retail partners to share field insights and discuss store performance.
- Participate in seasonal or quarterly buyer meetings to contribute on-the-ground knowledge and deepen your involvement in account planning.
- 1+ year experience merchandising and/or selling apparel, tradework supplies, or similar utility gear, such as workwear, performance apparel, sporting or outdoor gear, recreational products, safety products, or tools.
- An authentic passion for the TRUEWERK brand and for the quality and function of our products.
- Interest in, familiarity with, or prior exposure to the skilled trades is highly preferred.
- Experience building and installing retail displays, helping track and manage store inventory, and providing top-notch customer service to retail shoppers.
- General knowledge of retail store operations.
- Comfort speaking in front of a small group of people in a business or teaching environment.
- Experience working with Apple/MacBook computers, Google Drive and Google Sheets, Zoom, Slack, and CRM systems like HubSpot or Salesforce.
- A dependable vehicle and valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must live near a major airport and have the ability to travel up to 75% of the month, both locally and nationally.
- When visiting stores in or near the employee’s home region, travel will be done by car using the employee’s personal vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed at the standard rate.
- When visiting stores outside of the employee’s home region, travel will be by air. An overnight stay in a hotel may be required for multi-day trips. Airfare, hotel, and meals will be paid for by the company per our Travel & Expense Policy.
