The Opportunity
  • We're seeking our first Brand & Content Manager to join our founding team. This isn’t just a job- it’s a chance to define how Shepherd shows up in the market and becomes the trusted voice for startups navigating legal.

  • You’ll work directly with the founding team to own and execute Shepherd’s content strategy end-to-end — from narrative development to distribution across channels. This role is about more than creating content; it’s about building a system that consistently attracts, educates, and converts founders.

  • As an early member of the team, you’ll have full ownership over Shepherd’s content engine — shaping our voice, building our presence across LinkedIn, email, and startup communities, and turning insights from customers into compelling, high-performing content.

  • This is a rare opportunity to build the content foundation for a category-defining company at the intersection of AI and legal services.

What You'll Do
  • Own Shepherd’s end-to-end content strategy across all channels (LinkedIn, newsletter, website, email, partnerships, community)

  • Develop and refine Shepherd’s core messaging, narrative, and voice

  • Create high-quality content that educates and converts (posts, articles, case studies, founder guides, email campaigns)

  • Manage and scale founder-led content, including ghostwriting and thought leadership

  • Build and execute a consistent content calendar aligned with GTM priorities

  • Distribute content effectively across channels to maximize reach and engagement

  • Repurpose content across formats (e.g., long-form → short-form → email → social)

  • Collaborate with sales and growth to create content that supports pipeline generation and conversion

  • Analyze content performance and continuously optimize based on engagement and conversion metrics

  • Capture insights from customers, sales calls, and product usage to inform content strategy

  • Experiment with new channels, formats, and growth loops to expand reach

What We're Looking ForRequired
  • 4–8+ years of experience in a Senior content marketing, growth, or a related role

  • Proven track record of building and scaling content across multiple channels

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills- clear, compelling, and founder-friendly

  • Experience owning content strategy end-to-end (not just execution)

  • Deep understanding of content distribution, not just creation

  • Ability to translate complex topics into simple, engaging content

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

Preferred
  • Experience creating content for startups, SaaS, fintech, or legal tech

  • Hands-on experience with modern distribution channels, including:

    • LinkedIn (organic and founder-led growth)

    • Google / SEO (content strategy, keyword targeting, ranking content)

    • AI-driven discovery platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, answer-engine optimization)

    • Short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts)

  • Experience building personal or company brands on LinkedIn or similar platforms

  • Familiarity with SEO, email marketing, and growth analytics

  • Experience working closely with founders or executive teams on thought leadership

  • Interest in AI, startups, and the future of professional services

Essential Qualities
  • Owner mindset- You take full responsibility for Shepherd’s content presence across channels

  • Strategic thinker- You connect content to business outcomes like pipeline and revenue

  • Creative storyteller- You know how to make complex ideas engaging and memorable

  • Distribution-first- You think about where content lives and how it spreads, not just how it’s created

  • Operator- You build systems, not just one-off pieces of content

  • Adaptable- You iterate quickly based on data and feedback

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation: $125,000 – $140,000 base salary

  • Meaningful equity: Early-stage ownership with significant upside

  • Direct impact: Own Shepherd’s voice, narrative, and brand from day one

  • Creative ownership: Build and scale a multi-channel content engine

  • Professional growth: Opportunity to grow into Director of Content / Brand as the company scales

  • Mission-driven work: Help democratize access to high-quality legal services for startups
