About the Role

We are seeking experienced accounts receivable collectors to manage assigned payers on the Revenue Cycle Management team. As a Billing Support Specialist, you will tackle complex billing challenges and drive operational excellence. In this individual contributor role, you will leverage your expertise to investigate claim denials, navigate evolving payer requirements, and ensure complex claims are prioritized and resolved accurately. You will partner with cross-functional teams to analyze operational and denial trends, identifying key opportunities to optimize workflows and claim outcomes. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys using technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration to influence results, support peers, and enhance revenue cycle efficiency. If you are passionate about solving intricate problems and improving processes through data-driven insights, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our operational performance and the overall success of the revenue cycle. Provides guidance to offshore team members on payer-specific workflows, claim resolution strategies, and operational processes. Assists with onboarding, answers workflow questions, and helps promote consistency by sharing best practices and supporting continuous learning within the pod.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a healthcare billing, insurance, patient relations, or medical claims role

  • Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies, claim processing, appeals, and recoupment procedures

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Denial Language and Carrier CARC Codes

  • Expert understanding of The Life Cycle of a Claim

  • Critical thinking skills: evaluating complex cases, identifying solutions, and making informed decisions

  • Basic to intermediate level Excel experience (ex: Data formatting, formulas, basic charts, pivot tables)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous mental health or behavioral health billing and collections experience

  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software, such as AdvancedMD

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Organizational skills: managing multiple cases, correspondence, and documentation with meticulous attention to detail

  • 1+ years of experience partnering with and or leading offshore teams
