Backend Product Software Engineer, Connectors Platform

As a Software Engineer on the Connectors Platform team at Dash, you’ll help build the data ingestion platform that powers Dropbox’s AI-driven products - designed to handle and process massive volumes of data with reliability, security, and scalability at its core. The Connectors Platform serves as the backbone for integrating our AI capabilities with hundreds of third-party applications.

You’ll contribute across three key focus areas:

• Foundational Infrastructure: Build core components to accelerate connector development
• Expanding Connector Breadth: Drive integration with a growing number of third-party apps
• Enterprise Enablement: Develop tools and features to meet enterprise-specific needs

This is a fast-moving 0→1 environment where you’ll partner with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and ML experts to shape the future of AI at Dropbox. You’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, drive innovation, and make a direct impact across our AI ecosystem.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions for AI-powered applications.
• Design and implement algorithms to optimize data ingestion, manage third-party rate limits, and enhance sync throughput and performance.
• Develop and enhance platform capabilities to accelerate the creation and deployment of third-party integrations.
• Improve critical metrics such as sync success rate, throughput, data completeness, and freshness to ensure a high-quality user experience.
• Empower enterprise customers to build custom connectors by leveraging indexing APIs and tailored connector capabilities.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and mentoring junior engineers to promote growth and excellence.

On-call work may be necessary occasionally to help address bugs, outages, or other operational issues, with the goal of maintaining a stable and high-quality experience for our customers.

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer, with a focus on delivering scalable and reliable solutions.
• Strong expertise in backend development technologies such as Golang and Python.
• Extensive experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate user requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and effectively presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience with building third party app integrations.
• Working experience in frontend frameworks like React.
• Excited about building 0→1. Comfortable with ambiguity and pivoting in direction.
• Not satisfied with status quo. Great at finding problems and addressing them proactively.
