Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is GE Aerospace’s multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Pushing the boundaries of innovation every day, engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Role Overview

  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable Azure-based applications leveraging App Services, Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus, Events, Storage, and Redis.

  • Architect and implement microservices and containerization solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Container Apps for high availability and resilience.

  • Integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities—Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning—for features like summarization, embeddings, LLM integrations, and custom ML pipelines, using Python and SDKs, Copilot, Agentic AI, Gen AI, and emerging AI technologies

  • Act as the primary technical authority and SME for application development, guiding solution decisions, reviewing designs, and enforcing best practices in clean code, defensive coding, and secure architecture.

  • Drive CI/CD adoption and version control strategies by setting up GitHub Actions, branch policies, PR validations, and automated testing to ensure code quality and rapid delivery.

  • Mentor and manage a cross-functional team of developers, fostering collaboration, conducting code reviews, and leading Agile ceremonies to deliver on sprint goals.

  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications and ensure seamless deployment pipelines.

  • Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise security, compliance, and governance standards, and continuously optimize for performance, cost, and reliability.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideal candidate should have experience in Azure architecture, CI/CD

Required Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years leading teams and designing cloud-native architectures.

  • Proven track record delivering enterprise-grade applications on Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong communicator, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels and translating technical concepts into business value.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Developer) preferred.

  • Proficiency in .NET Core (C#), ASP.NET Core and advanced experience with Entity Framework Core or EF6+.

  • Expert in Angular (v10+) and TypeScript for responsive, component-driven front-end development.

  • Deep knowledge of Azure PaaS offerings: App Service, Functions, Container Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage, Cosmos DB, SQL Server on Azure.

  • Containerization expertise with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and Azure Container Apps; ability to define Helm charts or Bicep/Terraform modules.

  • Strong Python skills for AI/ML development, including building GenAI solutions and leveraging frameworks like Azure ML SDK and Agentic frameworks.

  • Experience integrating Azure AI services: Cognitive Services (Vision, Speech, Language), Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning for model training, deployment, and MLOps, Copilot, Agentic AI, Gen AI, and emerging AI technologies

  • Solid understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and enterprise architecture frameworks.

  • Hands-on with DevOps tooling: GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and artifact management.

  • Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB) with strong data modelling and optimization skills.
