The Opportunity:
Position Summary
The AVP will lead strategic and operational initiatives across multiple domains within Self-Pay Services and related functions. This role is responsible for driving client success through assessments, integrations, bad debt management, technology enablement, and operational excellence. The AVP will serve as a key liaison between internal teams and client leadership to ensure performance metrics meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
Assessments & Integrations
• Oversee comprehensive revenue cycle assessments for new and existing clients.
• Lead integration planning and execution for onboarding clients into Ensemble’s operational model.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition and alignment with client goals.
Bad Debt Strategy & Vendor Management
• Develop and implement bad debt strategies that optimize recovery while maintaining compliance.
• Manage relationships with external bad debt vendors, including performance monitoring and contract adherence.
• Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks for vendor performance and ROI analysis.
Technology & Automation Initiatives
• Drive automation and technology enhancements within Self-Pay workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
• Collaborate with IT and product teams to identify, prioritize, and implement innovative solutions.
• Monitor adoption and effectiveness of automation tools across operational teams.
Mailroom & Correspondence Operations
• Provide oversight for mailroom and correspondence teams ensuring timely and accurate delivery of patient communications.
• Implement process improvements to enhance turnaround times and reduce errors.
Operational Training & Liaison Functions
• Lead a team of operational trainers responsible for onboarding and continuous education of staff.
• Serve as liaison between clients and internal teams to resolve escalations and align operational practices with client expectations.
Bridge Teams & SLA Performance
• Direct bridge teams focused on stabilizing client performance and bringing metrics within SLA.
• Analyze root causes of performance gaps and implement corrective action plans.
• Report progress to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) or 8+ years of related experience in revenue cycle operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for business purposes
• Proven expertise in bad debt management, vendor oversight, and technology-driven process improvement.
• Strong understanding of payer mix, self-pay strategies, and patient financial engagement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
