Department Overview
WDTech is W&D’s in-house technology team – a group of collaborative and highly skilled technology professionals, all of whom are leading experts in real estate data, data science, and technology.
WDTech Product works hand-in-hand with the business to translate business outcomes into actionable product strategies, aligning user needs with innovative solutions, via close collaboration with our engineering partners, to ensure W&D maintains a competitive advantage as our technology landscape and target market rapidly evolve.
The Impact You Will Have
As a Product Manager on our team, you will play a key role in executing Walker & Dunlop’s data strategy, which is structured around four core areas: data governance, business intelligence, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and data warehousing. You will own end-to-end solutions that enhance business decisions and drive growth, leveraging your strategic thinking, clear communication, and a customer-first mindset. Collaborating across teams, you will build strong partnerships, stay informed of industry trends, and align priorities with OKRs to measure impact. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to tackle meaningful challenges, supported by a team dedicated to your success.
Primary Responsibilities
Deliver consistent value to customers from our data products and services
Manage a backlog of strategic opportunities and enhancements to our core platform
Conduct discovery and analysis that brings definition and clarity to our teams
Define initiatives and acceptance criteria aligned with team OKRs
Understand core operational, market, and corporate data sets
Create feedback loops that measure performance, satisfaction, and impact
Uphold the standards and policies that govern our data and product lifecycle
Triage, escalate, and effectively drive issues to resolution
Promote product adoption, build data literacy, and strengthen stakeholder relationships
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
7+ years of experience in technology, finance, real estate, consulting or an adjacent field
- 5+ years of product management experience
Experience writing complex SQL and interacting with databases
Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Jira preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Industry knowledge of finance and real estate domains
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
Proficiency with business intelligence (BI) tools (Power BI preferred)
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and architectures (AWS preferred)
Knowledge of data governance concepts and processes
Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
This position has an estimated base salary of $150,000 - $160,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
