What We're Looking For

Cross River’s Fintech Banking Business Credit Risk team has oversight of assessing, monitoring and reporting the risks faced by the Bank across FinTech products and partners. The AVP Fintech Credit Risk function will be responsible for overseeing the change submissions and ongoing monitoring of the Bank’s partners. This role will work proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams in the Bank to determine appropriate risk and oversight controls using internal and external software as well as internal reporting tools. The role will also be a main contributor to the ongoing improvements to the existing change submission process with a focus on risk management. The candidate must be self-motivated, analytical, results-driven, and be comfortable working with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Company risk culture by working with a high degree of integrity and always adhering to Company policies and procedures
  • Create and enhance change submission process across all products with the goal of stream-lining approval process and risk controls
  • Support internal requests for added functionality to change submission process using internal and external software
  • Oversee and report on completeness of change submission process. Streamline escalation process for issues in change submission process
  • Enhance report submission and report collection tools
  • Improve internal risk oversight and management using internal submission tools
  • Support risk management of all the bank’s payment products
  • Assist in developing and improving the Bank credit risk framework by reviewing and updating new or existing policies and procedures
  • Review and approve credit policy changes for fintech partners

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting, economics or related major
  • 5-10 years of experience in performing credit policy reviews in the financial services industry
  • Experience with using and improving processes in JIRA and Archer
  • Experience with creating oversight reports in SQL, JIRA, and Archer
  • Detailed understanding of compliance, fair lending, BSA, and marketing departments
  • Strong product knowledge of payments, unsecured lending, and card products
  • Programing skills is a bonus (SQL/Python)

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and work independently. High level of organizational skills with the ability to multitask, work at a rapid pace, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with learning and applying new software tools to risk control process
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to defend risk control decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and attention to detail

Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00
