The Impact You Will Have
As AVP, Data Analytics & Data Science, you will lead and scale our Analytics and Data Science functions within the Data organization. You will empower high-performing teams across Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data Science to deliver insights that drive measurable business outcomes. Partnering closely with Data Engineering, Product, and Business leaders, you will embed data-driven decision-making into the core of the enterprise—accelerating innovation, strengthening collaboration, and advancing our data-driven culture within WDTech.
Primary Responsibilities
- Define and articulate the technical and strategic vision (“North Star”) for Analytics and Data Science, establishing a clear, phased roadmap for execution
- Partner with business and technology leaders to deliver actionable insights that drive measurable enterprise outcomes
- Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics, predictive models, experimentation frameworks, and business intelligence solutions
- Lead, mentor, and develop Analytics and Data Science leaders, elevating capabilities in data storytelling, modeling, experimentation, and delivery excellence
- Foster an exceptional team member experience across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, ways of working, performance management, and career development
- Ensure transparency in priorities, progress, and outcomes; proactively manage risks and eliminate delivery surprises
- Establish and uphold high standards for analytics quality, governance, KPIs, best practices, and service-level expectations
- Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Applied Data Science, including 5+ years leading multiple teams
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
- Proven experience defining and executing analytics strategies aligned to business priorities
- Demonstrated success recruiting, mentoring, and developing high-performing Analytics and Data Science teams
- Experience working with Data Engineering teams in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-based analytical databases (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server)
- Industry experience in Real Estate, Financial Services, or Capital Markets preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling, with the ability to translate complex concepts into business impact
- Strong proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and familiarity with modern data stack technologies
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, and end-to-end analytics workflows, including data preparation, modeling, validation, and deployment
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic analytics initiatives that deliver measurable business improvements
- Experience operating effectively within both fast-moving teams and large, complex organizations
- Working knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality Management, and Machine Learning lifecycle management standards
- Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance technical documentation, software development, and testing processes
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes
- Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
This position has an estimated base salary of $170,000 - $185,000 plus a discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
