Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system – reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

Greenbox Logistics is reimagining fulfillment through advanced automation, intelligent facility design, and a purpose-built middle-mile network. As an Automation Design Engineer, you’ll lead the charge in bridging innovation, implementation, and operational performance across our automation systems. In this role, you will act as Greenbox’s primary technical liaison with Symbotic, managing a critical partnership that underpins our automation strategy. You’ll oversee innovation workstreams that accelerate implementation timelines, reduce costs, and tailor Symbotic’s systems to Greenbox’s unique operational needs. From concept through deployment, you’ll lead the design, customization, and integration of automation solutions that support both new site launches and existing operations.

What we do
GreenBox is pioneering warehousing-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across all sectors, such as wholesale, retail, and general merchandising.

*GreenBox is an independently managed joint venture between Symbotic and Softbank.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Vendor Partnership

  • Serve as Greenbox’s lead technical interface with Symbotic, managing day-to-day collaboration and long-term alignment.

  • Influence Symbotic’s roadmap to support Greenbox-specific functionality and innovation priorities.

  • Innovation & Optimization

  • Lead workstreams focused on reducing cost and deployment time of new automation systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance, scalability, and integration speed.

  • Solution Design & Deployment

  • Manage the planning, design, and implementation of Greenbox-specific system enhancements.

  • Oversee end-to-end execution of all new automation deployments, ensuring alignment with operational goals and timelines.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams across operations, engineering, and construction to ensure seamless implementation and site readiness.

  • Support the evolution of existing sites by managing upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution tied to automation systems.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems Design, or related technical field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automation systems, industrial engineering, or technical program management—ideally within supply chain, logistics, or warehouse automation.

  • Strong technical understanding of warehouse automation platforms (Symbotic experience a plus).

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and external vendor relationships.

  • Track record of driving innovation, improving system efficiency, and delivering on time and budget.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

Our environment

  • Up to 50% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
