Company Overview
ACS (Allen Control Systems) is a defense technology company building precision robotic systems for the United States and its allies. Founded by two former U.S. Navy electrical engineers with deep experience in robotics and software, ACS brings together AI, computer vision, precision motion, and advanced hardware to solve complex defense challenges across land, air, and maritime environments.
Our flagship product, Bullfrog, is an autonomous precision weapon system that transforms existing weapons into highly accurate counter-drone systems — giving warfighters a scalable, cost-effective response to one of the fastest-growing threats on the modern battlefield. Bullfrog is deployed with U.S. forces, and ACS works with organizations throughout the U.S. military and national security community.
Following a $200 million Series B at a $2.2 billion valuation, ACS is rapidly expanding manufacturing, accelerating Bullfrog deployments, and developing the next generation of autonomous battlefield systems. This is an opportunity to join a proven, fast-moving team and help scale technology with direct, real-world impact on national security.
ACS is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with additional operations in Alexandria, Virginia; Mountain View, California; and Huntsville, Alabama. For more information, visit allencontrolsystems.com.
About The Role:
We are looking for an Atlassian Administrator to own the administration, configuration, governance, and continuous improvement of our Atlassian environment, with primary responsibility for Jira and Confluence. You will partner with teams across Engineering, IT, Operations, Manufacturing, and other business functions to design scalable workflows, improve collaboration, and ensure Jira and Confluence are configured consistently and effectively.
The ideal candidate is both technically capable and process-oriented — someone who can translate business requirements into well-designed Atlassian solutions while preventing unnecessary customization, duplicate workflows, and uncontrolled application sprawl.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Jira and Confluence, configuring and maintaining projects, issue types, workflows, screens, fields, permissions, notification schemes, automations, dashboards, filters, and reporting.
Administer Confluence spaces, templates, permissions, page structures, and content governance.
Partner with business and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable Jira and Confluence solutions, and establish and enforce standards for project creation, workflows, naming conventions, permissions, custom fields, and spaces.
Evaluate requests for new workflows, fields, plugins, integrations, and customizations to minimize unnecessary complexity and technical debt; develop Jira automation to reduce manual processes and improve data quality.
Manage user access, groups, roles, permissions, and licensing in coordination with IT and Security; support integrations with tools such as Slack, GitHub, identity providers, and other enterprise applications, and manage Atlassian Marketplace apps.
Troubleshoot Jira and Confluence issues, monitor platform health and adoption, maintain documentation and training materials, and support upgrades, migrations, and change-management practices.
What You'll Need:
3+ years administering Jira and Confluence in a business or enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with Jira workflows, schemes, custom fields, permissions, automation, dashboards, and JQL.
Strong understanding of Confluence administration, permissions, templates, and space governance.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into system configurations, including troubleshooting complex application/configuration issues.
Understanding of role-based access control and application security; strong documentation and communication skills.
You'll Stand Out:
Experience administering Atlassian Cloud in a multi-team environment, including Jira Software and Jira Service Management.
Experience with Atlassian Automation and advanced JQL.
Experience integrating Jira with GitHub, Slack, Okta/SSO, APIs, or other enterprise applications; familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, scripting, or other development/automation technologies.
Experience managing Marketplace applications, or holding Atlassian certifications.
Experience working in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or another regulated environment; familiarity with change management, auditability, data governance, and access-control requirements.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary
ACS Equity Package
Health, Dental, Vision Insurance
