The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Vertical Lift division has an opportunity in the Platform Structures organization and is seeking Structural Analysis Engineers to support the AH-64 and AH-6 helicopters as well as new development programs. Along with these programs we support a large portfolio of products including Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Exploration Crew Station, and many others. This Associate Structural Analysis Engineer, Level 2, position will reside in Mesa, AZ.
Boeing Structural Analysts use their enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity to solve challenging problems that connect with the daily work goals of the project, program, business units, and the enterprise. As an Associate Structural Analyst, you will solve these difficult problems and work with a multi-disciplinary team under general direction, ensuring structural integrity of the product through a variety of analysis methods and tools, and documenting and presenting the analysis results for customer and regulatory approval. Boeing Mesa Structural Analysis engineers can work on a wide array of different systems including analysis of airframe, rotating components, rotor blades, drive systems, flight controls and tooling required to support aircraft design and build, special research and development projects and more.
Position Responsibilities:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start.

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

- Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
- Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
- Support of production activities
- Ensuring structural integrity and airworthiness of operational products used by our customers around the world
- Works under general supervision.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 1+ years' of experience performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element tools
- 1+ years of experience with structural analysis methods.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Degree from an ABET accredited school in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Structural Engineering or Physics field.
- Experience in aircraft and/or static structures stress analysis
- Experience using CAD Software (CATIA, NX, Solidworks, etc.)
- Experience with FEM Software (Patran / Nastran, ABAQUS, etc.)
- Experience with various communication Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience with Boeing analysis tools Common Structures Workstation, etc.
- Experience with design and analysis of metallic and composite materials
