Position Summary:
As an Associate Legal Counsel in the Legal Mandates Office, you will work under the direction of Legal Counsel and Management to advise internal stakeholders with respect to new laws impacting the healthcare industry.
With Legal Counsel oversight, you will identify and analyze newly enacted and amended federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and other legal guidance that impact CVS Health's businesses, products, services, and certain corporate functions. You will conduct legal research, interpret law, and determine the applicability of new laws to the enterprise. You will analyze and report new legal requirements to internal stakeholders.
You will work collaboratively with Legal Counsel and partners on matters related to legal and regulatory compliance. With the oversight of Legal Counsel and in consultation with specialized attorneys, you will recommend practical and sound advice for internal clients on legal issues related to enterprise-wide implementation of new legal requirements.
As part of the Legal team, you will gain experience working with a dynamic in-house legal department.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as an attorney with a law firm, healthcare company or judicial clerkship.
Admitted to practice law in at least one state and member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in aspects of healthcare related to insurance, pharmacy services, retail pharmacies, walk-in medical clinics, and/or pharmacy benefit management.
Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including: Affordable Care Act, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, State Insurance and Healthcare Laws, ERISA, CMS/IRS/DOL Rules Relating to Health Plans, HIPAA
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate required
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
