WHAT YOU'LL DO

Drive, not ride. With a dedication to service, our Sales team goes out and executes in the market. That’s how you build relationships.

In this role, you will sell and market our beverages to regionally impactful retailers within the Minnesota and North Dakota Market. This is an excellent opportunity to grow Talking Rain sales within the existing chains and creating new opportunities with new business targets.

Location: Remote work from home, ideally in Minneapolis /St. Paul MN area  #LI-Remote

Annual Bonus Potential: 20% - Eligibility is based on the company hitting annual financial targets.

Base Salary: $71,000 - $88,000 (depending on experience)

Note: This range is a regional average, but compensation will be reviewed based on geographical location depending on where the applicant will be working. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity, and market.

Plus, a stipend to cover your time on the road.

  • Account Management to include but not limited to:  Regional Grocery Accounts such as, CUB Foods, Cashwise/Coborns, Lunds & Byerlys, Miners, Knowlans Festival, Sunshine, Hornbachers, Hugo’s and several others.

  • Analyze sales trends, SKU availability and product opportunities.  Expectations to meet with these retailers at minimum one time per quarter, preferably monthly.

  • Attend at least one field team meeting per quarter to collaborate, support business and streamline communication. 

  • Develop short- and long-term business plans for retail customers. 

  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volumes of targeted distribution channels and creating avenues to increase volume.

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, merchandising equipment, techniques, etc.

  • Work with field sales team to track and close account voids and improve overall out of stocks per retailer.  

  • Work in trade with field counterpart monthly, making sure to utilize shelf space to manage trade visits and monitor retail execution.

  • Will be responsible for rolling up and internally publishing a monthly communication around Top 10 retailer performance.

  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations on new items, product information, pricing. As well as cross collaborate with Omnichannel counterpart on marketing and promotions with intent to drive volume.

  • In conjunction with direct supervisor: develop annual budget, monitor and maintain all spending within or better than budget.

  • Provide month-end variance reports with explanations for actual expenses vs. budget and continually look for ways to reduce costs.

  • Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, notifying immediate manager of any food safety and/or quality issues.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelors degree in Business or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales experience, ideally in beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, occasional travel, working evenings and weekends for special assignments.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 75 lbs. occasionally, as well as to push and pull up to 100 lbs. regularly.

This role is safety-sensitive. This means that as part of your core responsibilities, you will be regularly responsible for your own safety and/or the safety of others (e.g., driving on behalf of the company, working in a warehouse/plant environment).

  • Relocation: Relocation Available (when available)

  • Onsite and Hybrid Rain Makers: Get paid to carpool! Drive to work with another Rain Maker every week at least 2X a week and receive mileage reimbursement.

Please note, eligibility for our full benefits package is based on an average of 30+ hours per week in regular (not temporary) positions.
