In just over three years, we have grown from an idea to a global, remote-first team of more than 140 people. Our business is in the top decile for growth, and our team is consistently described as high-trust, low-ego, and high-output.

Associate General Counsel

We’re looking for an Associate General Counsel to own and scale Moxie’s legal operations and regulatory strategy as we expand nationally and explore international markets.

You’ll also be stepping into a strategic business partner role, helping shape our product and go-to-market strategy by ensuring compliance is both embedded and enabling. This role is ideal for a healthcare attorney who wants to help build a company from the inside, not just advise from the outside.

You’ll report to Moxie’s Outsourced General Counsel and help guide the company through complex healthcare regulations and commercial agreements as we grow.

Our Objectives for the Role

  • Legal Infrastructure Assessment & Quick Wins: Audit and standardize our legal templates, address urgent risks, and implement a centralized intake and tracking system to manage legal workstreams across Moxie.

  • Build a Compliance & Regulatory Baseline: Review existing compliance across product and service delivery, set up foundational tracking for state-level and federal regulations, and build internal guidance for provider-facing compliance risks.

  • Design Scalable Legal Systems: Lead the rollout of a contract management system, define review playbooks, and introduce automation and visibility tools that improve speed and reduce risk.

  • Develop Moxie’s Regulatory Strategy: Map the requirements for our state-by-state and international expansion. Lead regulatory gap analyses and evaluate new service lines for compliance impact.

  • Enable Strategic Growth: Serve as the legal lead for new market launches, including corporate structuring, M&A due diligence, and investor/legal deliverables. Build scalable governance practices for the board and leadership.

  • Build and Lead the Legal Function: Mentor legal staff, establish legal KPIs and SLAs, and represent Legal as a strategic voice across product, marketing, compliance, and ops teams.

We’re Looking For:

  • An experienced healthcare attorney: You know what MSO and PC structures mean and have experience drafting agreements between them. You understand nuances of practice regulations and can translate them into clear, actionable plans.

  • A regulatory translator: You can untangle complex state and federal requirements around scope-of-practice, telehealth, and corporate practice of medicine. You’ve worked across multiple state regulatory environments.

  • A builder and operator: You’re comfortable creating contract systems, reviewing templates, and developing risk processes. You love putting structure in place that enables teams to move faster with confidence.

  • A strategic partner: You bring a proactive mindset to product and company building. You don’t just say “no” — you help teams find compliant paths forward.

  • 5+ years of legal experience, including work in healthcare law, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracting. Bonus points for digital health, MedSpa industry knowledge or startup experience.

Why Join Us?

Above all, we’re in this to empower small business owners to own and grow their businesses. If we succeed, MedSpas will remain the opportunity for independent owner-operators instead of being dominated by a small number of large chains. If that speaks to you, speak to us.

  • Help build a first-of-its-kind company: Moxie is redefining what compliance looks like for independent aesthetic providers. You’ll help shape how that’s done.

  • Seat at the table: You’ll shape strategy, product, and growth. Your voice will influence decisions across the company.

  • Impact at scale: The work you do will affect not only Moxie’s success, but also the success of thousands of nurse entrepreneurs building better lives for themselves and their patients.

  • Competitive salary and stock, and generous health/dental/vision coverage.

At Moxie, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. We encourage people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply to our jobs. If you require any accommodations to fully participate in the interview process, please let us know—we’re happy to assist.
